yes, losing when up 3-0 is the biggest choke of all time, no edmonton is not some legendary detroit 2002 all time team.
I just don't see it. I feel sorry for the oilers. The Panthers will win game 7
I've had the pleasure to have watched the Oilers "Dynasty" teams play. Different era, different game and all that. However, I haven't been looking forward to an Oilers game this much since. If they pull this off (and I truly believe they will) it is going to be so incredibly sweet.
Barkov or McDavid…Tkachuck or Draisaitl…Hyman or Bennett…RNH or Verhage. Its tight…but the Oilers have the 2 best players in the game.
Bettman’s Law of Headlines: no.
If Florida aren't willing to pay their top RD at least 6 million then they are going to find themselves becoming the TML. I know Ekblad is currently top RD, but with only one year left. So there is no way Forsling's 5.75 is the limit they will pay a RD. Not saying they would be able to pay Montour more than that (as Ekblad is still on the books) but people are always willing to may more for RD than LD.
Very surprised CJ hasn't heard the Frank Seravalli reporting that both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl want 8-year contracts with Edmonton and have no interest in testing the free market. In an interview with Bob Stauffer, who is an Oilers employee, he said the team and Leon have already started negotiations and expects 8-year contracts with McDavid (16m/year), Draisaitl (14m/year), and Evan Bouchard (10m/year) to be signed. Leon and Connor are not only best friends but live next door to each other, and Leon's girlfriend and Connors fiancé are ALSO best friends. Don't think either of the three are going anywhere.
Maybe its wishful thinking because no one is in Draisaitl's head. But when you listen to players on the team that played in other markets talk about how amazing it is to play in Edmonton, you have to think, that if they can give him a substantial raise and term to stay, he's got a great market, a winning team, and contender, that really the only thing that would make him want to leave is the chance to be a 1st line center on another team or significantly more money than oilers can offer.
McDavid has made over $110 million usd in salary then there is his advertising and endorsement deals.
He has generation wealth at this point. This season solidified the need for depth if you want to win. I would imagine he's willing to take less than expected on an extension to make sure there is money to resign Draisaitl.
I think a deal gets done. I don't see a reason for Draisaitl to want out unless they can't make him a decent offer or he wants to be the lone star 1st line center on another team.
The fact that 4.2 million Americans tuned into ESPN to watch game 6 says it all. I bet game 7 will see close to 5 million Americans. This series it great for hockey down south. I mean a non-hockey market with a low fanbase playing a Canadian team and getting that kind of numbers? I think this series may be creating some new hockey fans.
What if the Cats put in their backup goalie and he pitches a shutout talk about a story
I don't remember the last time I've been this stoked for a game 7 in the NHL.
I would take Laine but not at $8.7M. I would at $5M-$6M.
Things can change in a flash. I think the panthers will shock the world ( which is weird to say becuse they led 3-0) but people are acting like the Oilers already won. Not so fast
How Crap!!!! My questions made it to the Show!!!! CJ and Julian 4 life❤❤❤❤❤
I knew before game 1 the Oilers were the better team.
Remember when people thought the Panthers would lose game 4 on purpose, so they could win at home? 😅 This is why that never happens.
Edmonton has already won.
I'm rooting for the Panthers, but what I find remarkable is how good of a coaching change the Oilers made.
This probably won't get talked about but what do you guys think of this Marner trade? Guenther, Durzi, 2025 second round for Marner (10% retained) and Lilligren.
The 1993-94 NY Rangers(50% Oilers) had a great story to their Stanley Cup Win but it would had been a much more awesome final if it was the Oilers vs NY Rangers for this year.
It doesn’t beat lebrons
Regardless of what happens these two teams have made this cup final exciting. I hope the Oil win because what a great story that would be. Respectfully, we love hockey and THIS is the best hockey we could have asked for!
I find it funny how no one had really watched the oilers this year but there fans. Buddy said they had been through so many valleys in the season to get here. Weren’t they number two in the league in points after the first 12 games.
I love how People are still trying to trade marner. Guys he isn't going anywhere if he doesn't want to
CJ throwing out a SPICY MEATBALL with Draisaitl
You know how the Red Wings had the edge in the early 90s on getting Soviet players over here? That feels like how the Flyers have been lately.
I think Florida wins this year. Edmonton next year.
