Why sad? Clearly Swayman at 25 years old has proven himself in this years playoffs. They need Ullmark’s $5 million to sign Swayman – I like Linus Ullmark as much as anyone. Is Ullmark going to be happy playing backup to Swayman and if he’s just a back up his value diminished when he hits free agency. Let’s hope Ullmark gets a lucrative contract extension
If Bruins need to lower price then 7th pick for Ullmark straight up.
Don’t react with desperation when in the stronger position. They want Ullmark, pay for him. Otherwise stick with your bad goaltending.
If they accept Chychrun *$4.6M CP, Forsberg $2.75M CP, and a bottom #1 pick, then it's a bad deal. Chychrun will most likely be looking for another $1.6M to resign according to the Hockey News. We are also seeing some interest from PHI on Chychrun. The more articles one opens up on this defenseman point to a resigning (ie for $7M-$8M) that most teams do not want to deal with. And what would they do with Forsberg besides pay him? So, they go without cap space for a year only to fling what they've waited on at some goalie who would not be starting ahead of Bussi in PRO? Keep Ullmark. Mayb e the trade market will open up during the season when teams realise what they have.
The thing is we dont need Chychrun, and if you argue Lohrei is not ready for top 4 ice time are we giving up Ullmark for a top 4 rental we wont resign? We need a 1 C and a 2nd line winger. If we must trade Ully then do it for a top 10 pick and a decent forward prospect cause we have none, we have alot of young prospect dmen who look to be 3rd pair at best, McAvoy is young, Lohrei is young, Carlo is young, Lindholm got alot of hockey still in him. We dont need more defense in my honest opinion, I'd go after Lindholm in FA. No point in trying to trade Ully to Carolina for Necas since they have Andersen and Kochetkov. But thats just my 5 cents i guess.

Sens fan here. I agree with many of the viewers here commenting that Boston doesn’t really need Chychrun. He would look nice next to Carlo, I think. But he wouldn’t exactly be filling a huge gap. He’d be a luxury, not a necessity, as I think Boston’s defence is fine.
Now from the Sens perspective; if it’s Ullmark with a five year extension, for Chychrun, and any picks not in the first round, I do that trade all day. If Boston wants to get their 25th overall back, they might have to take on Forsberg in the deal. I guess Ottawa could retain salary on him. But that 25th might be mandatory from Boston’s perspective.
Time will tell. Such an exciting time of year!

Goalies always get significantly less than you think. Markstrom who has term pulled a late 1st, and a fringe NHLer in Bahl.
It’s not rolling it back with the same goalies. It’s rolling it back with sinking another 3-4m$ going to the goalies and not to a scoring center. In other words, untenable. The market appears a lot smaller than they initially thought, currently consisting of 1 team willing to pay much at all
