This man has the Devils trading Nemec in every video. I said it in the Markstrom video and I'll say it here: NEMEC IS NOT BEING TRADED! He was never getting traded for Markstrom and he's not getting traded for a 14th overall college player that refuses to sign with his team.

Seeing as how Boston has multiple 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line centers – why would they be in on Couturier? Idk, that trade seems real crazy to me. Esp if they're giving someone like Frederic up. Feels like a major step backwards, I think they would rather keep Frederic and Ullmark than help a division rival while adding to a place that they already have depth. Elias Lindholm would be a significantly better fit than Couturier and he's a UFA
Brassard was sadly part of the worst trade in Sens history. Zibanijad is still going strong in NY. 🤷🏒🤷

Youre correct about the American born NCAA players. They mostly come from wealthy families and have hook ups through the system. Its not that they aren't good players but they have Lindros symptoms…..
Lindholm will be cheaper than Couterier. If the 3rd team is Anaheim and they move Zegras for the 7th pick it’ll make more sense

If it's a 3-team trade with PHI then it's more likely Konecny than Couturier. I'd rather just take Chychrun than Couturier. He's damaged goods at this point. He sat out almost 2 full seasons with back problems and when he came back he was a shell of himself and now has a hernia surgery this offseason. Plus, Konecny is in the same boat as Chycrun and Ullmark with his contract. One year left before UFA status.
BOS needs a 1C, they have plenty of depth at the center position they're just missing that top end piece right now, as well as some extra kick on the wing. Playing David Pastrnak with Danton Heinen or Morgan Geekie can not be a long term solution.
For the Canadian teams, somehow it's getting to the point that I'd be more open to drafting Russians and other Europeans still playing overseas than players who hold the unique option of declaring free agency after their fourth year of university. Far too many are choosing to play for American-based teams at the earliest possible convenience, with some refusing to even sign with the Canadian teams that draft them.
Canadians still account for over 40% of all NHL players. Surely Canadian teams can find comparable Canadian players in most rounds. It's just smart asset management to avoid one of the pitfalls that American college players enjoy, especially given the number of Americans and Canadians who regularly place most Canadian teams on their no-trade lists.
I don't think Demidov makes it past the Habs, given his size 6'1 not 5'11 and obvious skill. Dach and Caufield have chemistry, moreso than Suzuki and Caufield, so given the chance to have top 6 of Slaf – Suzuki – Demidov and Newhook – Dach – Caufield, I don't see Hughes passing on that.

If Philly moves up in the draft it wont be until draft day and it wont be for a defenseman, it will be for a center. I think if Iginla is still available at 7 then they make the move because they know he isn't getting past Calgary.
