Team let him down man, the level Arturs rose to was something we rarely get to see. Bubble Demko was a thing, but he was already a backup. Arturs was third man up and was carrying the team like a vezina winner chasing his first cup.
I wonder how far he could of got if we closed out game 6 or woke up for more than 10 mins in game 7.

Bubble Demko was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. We had no rights to be in that series and he almost won it for us by himself.

I hope we keep this kid. He’ll be a great replacement for Demko when he blows his knee out this season for the 5th time.

i won’t him

He also played his best in Game 6 of the Nashville series as well. Not many kid has the calm and coolness to win a clinching game on the road with a shut out when the outcome is 1-0. This kid is a big game player.
I think if he can work and improve on his puck tracking, and improve on making saves from long range shots from the point, a little bit more consistency in the regular season, he will be a NHL starter sooner rather than later.

As great as Silovs was, I still can only dream about what could have been if Demko was healthy. All it would have taken is literally just one extra save (given all of those one-goal games) to have us get through the Oilers. And Demko would have given us that one extra save. We probably could have even closed out the series quick enough to have Boeser not get a blood clot, in which case a cup run isn’t out of the question.
Either way this isn’t shade on Silovs, he gave us everything we needed to win. We just couldn’t get it done. I’m excited to see his growth, and having a Demko/Silovs tandem for probably just over 6M next year is a very nice thing to have given recent goalie contracts.

With Demko we win

Sucks that there’s no chance our roster will be as deep as it was; likely for some years. Really seemed like it was our year. While I do think we will have more playoff runs, it’ll be hard to see us as having a future cup team when we will likely have petey, Miller, demko and Hughes making a combined 38-40m compared to the 28m this year.

Guys, let it go lol. Yes Silovs rose above expectations and played unreal for us, but edmontom is in the finals for a reason. They were the better team. Get over it. I doubt the Canucks would’ve made it this far. Team doesn’t have the experience yet.

Bobrovsky was standing on his head the first 3 games

Silovs is the only goalie I was afraid of in the playoffs. Keep that goalie, figure out the rest, and he’ll win you the cup.

I would have thought i was watching a veteran if I didn’t know better. His poise is incredible, and I trust it will serve him well.

Man I wouldve loved to see where we wouldve been if we had a healthy team, you think we be in the finals rn with demko and boeser in the lineup (and a healthy petey)?

The rest of the team helped him out immensely by playing a more defensive, some would say too defensive, game.
But there’s no question in my mind that he is a solid « big game » goalie and Demko’s eventual successor.

Seems like backup goalies played pretty decent against Edmonton in general this season. Maurice should have started Stolarz game 5 or 6

His GsAX was negative during the series. He wasn’t that good.

Silvos made me believe we were close .

It’s a feel good story, having the rookie 3rd stringer step into the playoffs. He played good.
That said, he had a sub-.900 save %… it’s not like he was some unstoppable force out there that took over a series.

If other goalies committed to the ice pack, they could be great too
