  1. Hope they re-signs those bottom guys and gridlock their cap space for a decade😂

  2. Fire the ones with minuses and keep the pluses. Easy answer.

Love McDavid’s plus/minus for sure. Just kinda wish he would have scored or actually done something in games 6 and 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Please let us be rid of nurse. He’s over payed and under skilled.

And this comes down to a GM diff.

  5. phoenixember

Kane -7 and a healthy scratch for game seven. You love to see it.

  6. abelgretzky

I really wish Kane got a surgery back in January and prayed they made into the 3rd round and played like himself to the cup :’)

Typical for the Oilers but I actually thought their supporting cast was a big reason for their run this year. Guys like Janmark, Foegle, and Brown played the best hockey of their careers contributing big goals and penalty kills.

  8. AssInspectorGadget

The Oilers had 5 guys in the top 7 of playoff scoring, no other in top 50.

  9. Who was the one that let Reinhart skate all the way from his own defensive zone with the puck right into a nice shooting position with no real pressure?

  10. MagniPlays

I understand the sentiment but doesn’t this say something about just how well the panthers played through the first 3? And how the oilers were outclassed the entire playoffs?

    It’s never a individual sport

  11. Nurse is the worst contract in the NHL. I can’t believe how many turnovers he had, how many blown coverage goals he caused and how little physicality he brings. I wouldn’t give him a third of his $9.5 million for that play.

  12. micropterus_dolomieu

Was Draisaitl injured? He pretty much disappeared in the last 3 games.

  13. Larry-thee-Cucumber

Hmm it’s almost like you need more than 3 players to win the cup…..

  14. So Nurse was, what, -17 going into the finals, and finished at -9?

  15. Otherwise_Awesome

At the beginning of the Final when Knoblach put Nurse and Ceci back together, I thought Knoblach was trying to get fired in the middle of the series.

Holland job should be easy, dump the bottom feeders. There were too many passengers in this series.

  17. Humans_Suck-

It’s almost like there are 20 roster spots for a reason. That’s like 5 years in a row now that the oilers have gotten knocked out because they have no depth.

  18. Bouchard was insane all playoffs long. I was rooting for Dallas in the West Finals and he killed them for the whole series.

  19. The_Wata_Boy

A couple Reddit fans were trying to tell me Edmonton’s 3rd and 4th line were outplaying Florida. They convinced themselves the depth wasn’t a problem lol.

Honestly, the better team ultimately won. The Oilers played well above their projected level. Their PK was historically dominant. For a middling PK through and through the regular season, to deliver that kind of a performance is simply unrealistic. Their bottom lines also delivered not just offensively but played a great shutdown game. A lot went their way to make it this far so props to them for that. Alas, as a Canucks fan, I’m super glad they lost.

  21. fundiedundie

Wasn’t Nurse at like -15 at one point? Maybe before that huge 8-1 game?

  22. Kane was hurt and may deserve the benefit of the doubt to some extent. Nurse, Ryan, Desharnais, McLeod all pretty much played like ass and were largely responsible for Edmonton losing the cup.

  23. redditmodsdownvote

i forgot about kane. wtf happened there? injured??

  24. Diamondback424

A shitty defenseman for the low low price of $9.25m a year!

  25. M00setracker

Flawed stat. Each of these players played 2 or 3 times more hockey than anyone else. Of course your +- will be affected. Stupid
