L’un des derniers actes de Shea Weber en tant que capitaine de l’équipe a été de défendre Carey Price après qu’il se soit reproché la défaite du Tricolore en finale de la Coupe Stanley 2021.

Still hurts to be honest. Seeing Carey and Gally so defeated after the cup loss hit me hard. Grew up cheering on those guys and I really thought they would be able to go out with a bang. Nothing but respect for Weber, he was a true leader throughout his tenure here.

you can’t fucking pay me to rewatch this video

I know Price is his own worst critic, but I don’t think there’s a single Habs fan who’d blame Price for losing. Those two were literally on their last legs.

They’ll be back, though. HuGo’s got the team going in the right direction.

Carey is one of the biggest reason we even made it that far. I’ll never blame him for it, especially after sacrificing his knee for that run.

Man, watching Price is rough. He just looks… stunned.

No one « deserves » a cup, but Gally, Byron, Price and Weber were warriors their whole career. These guys really put their body on the line for the team and the fans and it’s a damn shame none of them got to lift the cup.

My pandemic project was to watch every game that season from first exhibition game pick drop till whenever their season wrapped up and boy howdy did I get rewarded. That was magical and I wear my Shea Weber designed Habs hat with pride.

  9. Sweet Mother of Gandhi…great players, the both of them!

This breaks my heart in multiple ways. Too many things to talk about in a reddit post. These guys literally gave their bodies for our team. To hear them say they weren’t good enough hurts, cuz to me they were. I’ll carry these men on my shoulders for the rest of my life because of what they gave.

  11. As a Canucks fan, everytime i look at your roster and think it looks promising, you guys start strong in the season and get rolled in the playoff (12-13′)

But everytime it looks like you have a bubble team, you go deep or at least go out strong. (09-10′, 20′-21′)

It pisses me off so much that some weasel like Nick Cousins gets to lift the cup but Shea and Carey literally destroyed their bodies in one last push in their long careers and came up short

There’s a ton of guys in professional sports that don’t have that look after a big lost but these guys truly wanted to win, it’s a damn shame but oh well life isn’t a disney movie unfortunately, it was still a fun ride.
