Honestly this could not have gone better for us. We maintain a very positive relationship with SKA and the KHL at large for playing this right, AND we get our guy 2 years early. I just wish Matveis dad could be here to come to Philly too.

Does anyone else feel like this is a Luka Doncic situation for us? Michkov/Doncic has an impressive season in a grown man’s league, and slides in the draft for some inexplicable reason?

Could this mean anything bad down the road? Like a possible return after spending a couple years in the NHL

Whether or not SKA did it for his father or not makes no difference… the fact is that it was done on good terms. Also got Fedotov being patient. I think Danny might be looking at using Russian players as his development league and keep drafting them and bringing them over so that they can all support each other. May not be a bad strategy (Ovi, Panarin, etc). His calm demeanor is the key.
