Good for him. I think buying into the culture is important for young players. I would be happy to hear that a Vegas prospect refused to chant Let’s go Oilers (my opinion, their rival), so I’m not upset the other way around.

  2. I don’t mind him trying to avoid having his teammates and fans hate him before he even gets drafted.

A true Shark, good for him. I’m sure we’ll have many battles throughout the years.

i don’t really understand why people are talking so much about this, he’s not a vegas prospect so why would he be chanting for them? same way that a vegas prospect shouldn’t be cheering ‘go sharks go’.

I enjoy anybody who feeds the rivalry. He apparently has strong ties to the Bay Area. I say good for him.

But I also hopes Nabber flattens him in his first game against us.

  6. I don’t think we are gonna draft him so it’s ok

He knows he’s gonna be a shark so it’s a good idea he’s not chanting it

i think it’s nothing, none of the other prospects chanted it either. they’re not supposed to show any bias publicly so it’d be weirder if they did chant it

I wouldn’t be chanting or cheering either if I knew
I was going to the Sharks lol

As the future #1 pick, it only makes sense from a business perspective to show zero emotion when any team name is mentioned. Contract mode.

Yo that first comment on the original bardown post says it all lol

I get not cheering, but they’re just kids, and they’re stoked a first round draft pick is at their camp, it’s inspiring. I don’t think he has to cheer, but cheering for the kids is different. I wouldn’t cheer for the oilers but if I was attending the youth hockey team, I would cheer the kids team on. Who cares. Leave that shit for the NHl ice, if you can hype up kids, hype em up. Just my thoughts, nothing more.

Given he’s almost certainly going to the sharts, good on him

  14. JackManningNHL

He knows where he’s going. He’d be dumb to do otherwise.

  15. LogieThePerogie

He is a rival prospect why would he chose to chant the rival teams name?

    Highlighted comment says it all.

“Just getting used to not having anything to cheer about.”
