  1. I dropped Morgan this morning. I don’t give a shit what Utah does.

  2. He’s literally just announcing a podcast that his company is doing. Did you drop PHNX when they announced that DNVR would start?

Dude, I wish you’d just unsub from this place for a bit. For your mental health and the general atmosphere of this place. I’m still pissed and holding onto copium for a quick turnaround. I’d also get some schadenfreude from seeing Smith struggle with an arena.

Nonetheless, the hockey ops that are now in Utah have only ever busted their butts trying to create a winning product through an awful rebuild. Amidst admittedly disheartening fan support at times (financial or losing fatigue motivated), they still pushed and were part of the Valley community. I won’t cheer for their continued struggles and misfortune, nor should any true Yotes fan.

Bettman and the BOG suck, because they are the orchestrators of the exodus. However, even in that, there’s nuance because they had every reason to rid the league of AM and Douche Jr. Should they have fought harder to force a sale to Ishbia for the offer he made and get Footprint renovated while they played 1 more season at Mullet? *YES!* I bet your homie (Gary) genuinely tried to pursue that idea, but found it was near impossible to legally force that and thus resorted to another buyer with pockets opened even wider. I doubt AM was going to ever allow the local sale to happen for less than a net profit beyond his purchase of the franchise, his annual expenditures, upgrade costs for Mullet, and investments into the Tempe and post-Tempe applications/surveys/etc.

So honestly, if there was nearly no way to extricate the league of a bumbling, ignorant, bullheaded, greedy owner who was never going to honor the local community and fanbase (the only things you seem to care about), then why hold on to such animosity for Utah? Aside from Ryan Smith, who is understandably disliked by nearly all of us, those fans are where we were 30 years ago. And if you are envious that the hockey community is still dunking on us and treating Utah like an exponentially greater place than us (which they aren’t as much as it feels), that’s just life and you shouldn’t let it hit you so hard.

I know you enjoy antagonistic, confrontational, brash exchanges based on nearly every post and comment for the past year, so I’m sorry to disappoint as I’m simply trying to reason and relate somewhat. In the end, I genuinely hope you can find some peace or closure on this that doesn’t involve hate-cheering or waiting for the franchise to reactivate.
