Funniest part of this press conference was him getting sort of mad that them targeting Necas was public

There is really 0 reason for him to do this other than him being a nice guy. It’s a super player-friendly feature on contracts. If he can pick where he goes and what he makes vs not, why not pick?

Some guy here told me that he waived it before, why wouldn’t he do it again, lol.

If there’s anyone willing to pay him out there why wouldn’t he just force the buyout and then get paid twice when the team just signs him as a UFA. There’s like no possible situation where waiving his NMC is profitable, its literally just burning money.

he knows we are making the playoffs this year and wants to experience playoff hockey, i don’t blame him

Isn’t this a moot point?
What team out there would actually want to take on that albatross of a contract?
I cant imagine there’s a trade to be made NMC or not…

Us giving him that contract was a nice gesture on our end. Him waiving would be a nice one on his end. But maybe there is no market for a trade with the teams he would like to go to and will be able to sign with soon enough. I’m sure it’s complicated and all reasonable tires have been kicked. Or at least I’d like to assume that.
Achilles_Buffalo
Demote him to the Amerks. See how fast he wants a trade.

I have to say, I think it was quite irresponsible for Chad DeDominicis to report that the team was 100% buying out Skinner, when that wasn’t the case. I mean he may get bought out, but it’s not official yet and I’m sure they’re still going through the debate on if they should or shouldn’t do this .
Thats just irresponsible journalism IMO
