It’s rumoured that’s Jake Guentzel is already offered what he wants from the Canes… I don’t think we can get him, but not a huge deal, we can get someone a lot cheaper.
He would be a great fit, but there is rumour that Carolina is retaining him and they are closing in on a deal. We have to have a Plan B in place in case if Guentzel is no longer available come July 1.
when lindholm bombed playing with pettersson imo he was not a fit for the canucks. all the best and ba-bye. if they get Z done and get J G and pettersson's second half of the season was a one off, they will be a much better team.

Not signing JG would be the smarter play. Paying top dollar for a player at the end of his career is not smart money, great player but the nucks cannot afford him in the long run.
Zadorov is priority….. Necas is the best candidate to play with Petey.
Guentzel is too expensive I would get Necas instead
Picking up Guentzel would be great for Petey, but would be brutal for the rest of the roster spots, not to mention about signing Big Z. He will want 9.5 which will leave us just shy of 7.5 for 4 more spots.

I don’t think it’s likely to happen if Carolina offers a nice long contract. I mean,who wants to live in Canada with the shit pile of tax they’re going to pay. A guy making 7 mil at least?…cra is taking a 52% juicy bite out of everything over 200k. I wouldn’t do it if I was him. Carolina is just a way nicer place to live,work,and raise any family he might have.
