  1. Overager, he’s 20. Good offense, outscored Danielson this year by quite a bit, 96 points in 58 games, good for 13th in WHL scoring, had 10 points in 7 games at the WJC for the Czechs. Listed as a center. He’s 6’0.

Chris peters has him at 88: third-year eligible player, Becher showed in the WHL and at the World Juniors this year that his game has been taken to another level. He has good-enough size, excellent vision and he can make a lot of plays. The refinement in his offensive game suggests he’s on an upward trajectory and could potentially reach for a middle-six role if he continues on this upward trend.

EP Prospect Guide says « A deceptive, pacey forward who brings just as much offensive value without the puck as he does with it, but he’s a double re-entry with skating concerns. »

Production really exploded this season. Because of his age he might be in Toldeo/GR sooner rather than later.

  4. uknownick

Is he gonna start in AHL next season since he is older?

  5. MeshuGojira

Immediately our highest scoring prospect last season, fwiw..

56th by Craig button, 82nd by mckeens. This is what FC hockey says: Becher is a smart offensive force that impacts the game at both ends. He moves well with great straight-line acceleration and fluid edges. He takes open spaces and puts himself in high-danger opportunities, generally attacking the weak side of the ice. He’s a savvy playmaker with great hands and puck protection, completing impressive feeds, even no-look ones with ease.

This is what the Hockey news says about him:

Before discussing his offensive ability, Becher’s defensive game needs to be recognized. He is excellent at blocking shots and creates turnovers at a high rate. As for his positioning, Becher understands where he needs to be at all times, making it a frustrating task for the opposition to try and generate chances when he is on the ice.

As for the offensive zone, Becher thrives with the puck on his stick. While he can score, he is a high-end playmaker who can set up teammates in scoring positions. Becher is also a master in the transition game, as he knows whether the best option is to pass the puck off to a teammate or carry it into the offensive zone himself.

The Czech Datsyuk, you heard it here first

Great pick. Absolutely destroyed Nanielson in scoring.

Reading about him and watching some clips, I’m kinda exited about that pick. Hopefully he shows enough in Rookie Camp to turn Pro immediately.
