I had an entire essay written out but it’s just easier to say that I’m whelmed by this draft as a whole.
This is just my personal opinion which doesn’t mean I’m right in the least.
KD could soften the blow if he makes some clear upgrades to the team in free agency come Monday. As of writing this one of the players I wanted the Hawks to target (Tanev) is already off the board.
That would have been insane. Hopefully this pushes KD to be aggressive in FA.
He should have added more picks. The likelihood of a 2nd or late first hitting is low. If you were confident Demidov was your guy AND your offer was already close, shoulda added another late first to take it over the top. A late first only hits 30% or less of the time and typically projects bottom 6. The difference in value for a player you really love makes it so worth it to send additional comp. Disappointed.
Well that’s not gonna calm down the extremely loud contingent of people here who wanted Demidov at any cost lol.
But that one Redditor said it was for Lindstrom. Laz and Powers are clearly wrong here.
So it sounds like he took Levy thinking there was a better chance to land Demidov via trade and it ended up not happening like he envisioned. He way over thought this.
Sounds alot like a late era Bowman concoction, which makes since because guess who was assistant GM when Bowman started to go off the rails.
Probably would have been easier to draft demidov at 2 then trade up for levahunov?
So, about this never ending debate, Levshunov or Demidov?
