Needed wingers too.  He was a late first option in most mocks, so let’s see what he’s got.

  2. From the reports this guy has great potential, just doesn’t always try his hardest. If we can get him unlocked, he could be great

I like it. Wheeler had him ranked 30th. Based on the write up, he’s a very skilled puck handler, a good skater & has a good mid range shot. He was sidelined with a lower body injury for a while last year, but put up 44 points (19/25) in 47 games & Wheeler thinks he could put up 90-100 in a fully healthy season.

Kid has top six potential. Right handed shot too which is currently pretty scarce on the Wild.

I’m pretty surprised we didn’t go for Plante, being a Minnesota boy and all, but Ritchie feels like great value here. like others said, he was late 1st round in most mocks. RW will be nice too

he’s about as young as its possible to be for this draft. ritchie, eiserman, mustard and surin all august birthdays just sneaking in before the cutoff

also the team he plays on doesnt have the most talent and since he’s sort of a playmaker who plays off his teammates that maybe held down his point totals

I think the Wild did pretty good overall with their first two picks, trading next year’s 3rd round pick to move up and grab Buium could be a great move by BG, similar to grabbing Wallstedt a couple of years ago. Don’t know about Ryder Ritchie other than he is right shot which is needed on this roster… my only knock is I wish both of them were just a little bigger

idk how to ask this in a nice way but what is up with this kids mouth

Late growth spurt. Injury watered his stats and draft stock as a result. Beat case scenario for a 2nd rounder. Has legit top 6 talent. His Dad being a 4th line grinder former NHLer makes me worry less about his defense.
