Né et élevé à Fort Lauderdale. Grâce à mon expertise et à mon expérience, laissez-moi vous raconter comment demain se déroulera pour la plupart… dites-moi si quelque chose me manque.
Nous quittons la maison vers 8h30. La circulation s’arrête dès que nous atteignons la route fédérale. Nous sommes alors coincés dans la circulation en essayant d’arriver à un endroit suffisamment proche pour nous garer et ensuite marcher le reste. Une fois garés, il sera 10h si nous avons de la chance. Ensuite, nous marchons pendant 2 à 4 miles, sur un pont géant (las olas, 17ème, ou lever du soleil, faites votre choix), sous le soleil brûlant juste pour nous rendre à la plage.
La plage sera un véritable désastre et nous n’aurons nulle part où nous asseoir, pas d’ombre, d’énormes files d’attente pour l’eau, la nourriture, les toilettes ou quoi que ce soit d’autre. Nous resterons debout pendant des heures au soleil à regarder les adultes se saouler autour de nos enfants, peut-être une ou deux bagarres avec les femmes du ghetto qui font du twerk et qui sont libertines dans des maillots de bain minuscules tout en hurlant.
Vous essayez de vérifier les « vendeurs » et vous réalisez que les Panthers de la Floride n’emploient pas de graphiste pour aucun de leurs produits dérivés. Ce ne sont que des polices avec un logo des Panthers collé dessus. Vous ne trouverez aucun graphisme réel sur aucun des produits dérivés. « Stanley Cup Champions » dans les mêmes lettres majuscules qu’ils utilisent depuis 5 ans et un bouclier des Panthers collé dessus, c’est tout ce que vous voyez. Le gamin qui transpire dans la remorque des produits dérivés vous dit que le t-shirt coûtera 60 $ s’il vous plaît. Ou vous pouvez acheter une écharpe avec les mêmes lettres majuscules (nous sommes en Floride, remarquez) pour 55 $.
Après quelques heures, des camions de pompiers passent et nous apercevons un ou deux joueurs de hockey, mais nous voyons des dizaines de membres de la famille des joueurs de hockey remplir les camions de pompiers, donc nous ne savons vraiment pas qui est qui. Vos enfants se plaignent de ne rien voir. Ouais défilé.
Ensuite, nous combattons la foule pour essayer de rentrer chez nous et marcher encore 4 miles jusqu’à la voiture, remarquez que nous avons parcouru encore 5 miles en marchant d’avant en arrière tout au long de la journée. Nous retournons à la voiture, puis je reste assis dans le même trafic pendant encore une heure pour essayer de rentrer à la maison. Nous ne mangeons pas un seul bon repas de la journée, nous sommes tous stressés et brûlés par le soleil.
Cela aurait pu être sur l’autoroute fédérale, cela aurait pu être sur Broward Blvd, cela aurait pu être à Markaham, cela aurait pu être sur l’intercoastal, mais nooooooooo.

It’s going to be a shit show to say the least
Can anyone confirm whether or not the Cup will be present? If I can get a glimpse of it as it passes by with my own eyes under the South Florida sun, it will be worth the misery before and after.
The memory of the Larry O’Brien trophy shining under the sun on Biscayne Blvd makes me want to experience that feeling with Lord Stanley’s cup on A1A 😭😭😭

Not gonna lie, a boat parade down the intracoastal, culminating in a party/stage in Bayfront park (maybe slightly too far south) would have been pretty dope
All I can’t say don’t buy merch at the parade. You can do that before or after parade. You know stanley cup merch will be available for some time definitely through out the summer. Go to ftl memorial to shop or arena store when it is open.
My brother is at a hotel within eyesight of the stage and I’m stuck in fucking Louisiana
I’m going as prepared as possible, lots of water, cooler backpack and some snacks. Requested an Uber a head of time to pick me up early and dump me near Bo’s on the beach. I have no expectations on what I’ll see or what’s going to happen. I think if people have any common sense , tomorrow’s event is a good time to use it, leave the children at home and be prepared for an absolute shit show with no easy way out of there.
How early do you think I’d have to get to La Playa or Lulus to get a good view of the stage/parade respectively?
I should probably just leave the house now right?

If you think the parade is going to be a hassle, then don’t go. It’s that simple. Nobody is forcing you to go.
Pens fan here! First off: CONGRATULATIONS!! I was pulling for a first time winner and got one! Good job offing the Rags.
Second: having seen a few of these, and since it’s being discussed, the CUP will certainly be there! Players ride in trucks/convertibles and often just getbout and walk along high-fiving. They ALSO usually bring the Cup around to show it to folks closely; it might not just drive past, it can get really close to the fans along the route!
It’s totally worth it, it’s so incredibly beautiful to see in person!!

I don’t wanna be a downer but they really did choose the worst spot for this. Shoulda been near sawgrass mall and the arena where there’s plenty of parking and space to stand. You have the mall right there to get out of the sun if need be & the rally should be in front of the arena. Anyone who’s thinking of leaving their house at 8 or later, that’s already too late. If you’re not in the area and parked by 6 am, good luck. Any parking zone that isn’t the Las Olas garage, it’s an hour walk only to stand there in the sun for 6-7 hours. The parade “route” is 9 blocks. The parade starts at 11 and the rally at 1 pm. It’s gonna take them two hours to travel 9 blocks? They really did plan this poorly. Kudos and more power to those that are willing to wait and stand in the rain and sun. I will happily watch the parade from the comfort of my couch with food & water at arms reach and air conditioning. See ya at the home opener!

Okay so can someone tell me honestly…is leaving at 7, 730 really necessary? I was thinking about leaving at 9am and just taking an uber to one of the garages. I’m considering just setting up on the beach near the rally and hoping for the best. Am I foolishly optimistic?
