With the fact that he knows Adams, and also played with Skinner, I doubt he will retire. If he would've gone to any other team, I think he would've retired. He wanted to stay on the Wild and finish his career there, and basically make that his home. He listed basically any team that needed a center that was playoff hopeful is the way it sounds. I got most of this from Michael Russo on The Athletic. I'm a Wild fan, that isn't too upset. I have been saying we should rebuild for years, hope this can lead to more!

Pretty sure Staal didnt have the Sabres on his list cuz he never thought a team like Buffalo would trade for him lol probably only thought a contender would trade for him and only put contenders on his list which would allow him to stay in Minny which is apparently what he wanted to do.
