between Lundkvist, Brannstrom, and Bryson, the market is flooding with puck-moving D who have solid underlying metrics. would behoove NYR to take a bite out of this but they already refuse to play the undersized defenseman they currently have (despite significant injuries to Trouba/Lindgren), so no shot
oh are we doing that thing again where we downvote any commentary that questions the moves of a general manager? cool good to know.

Heard we may be looking for a 3rd pair RD…

Doesn’t reflect particularly well on him that we didn’t want to use him, Dallas is a generally well run organization and was willing to give a first for him, and by the end of two seasons, Dallas seemed to want anyone else instead of him on the ice and gave him 4 minutes a night until benching him completely.

Who did we treat for him? What was the trade tree I forgot

I’m shocked I get that they might not want to keep him around but I’m shocked they couldn’t get anything for him yesterday

Idk I’d bring him back and give him a shot

Would be very funny if he ends up replacing Trouba

I shouldn’t have to say this but there’s ZERO chance he comes back here. There’s a surprising number of comments saying we should do it 🤦🏻♂️

A lot of people call Nils a bust pick but he was 28th overall and ended up as a 3rd pair NHLer and is only 23 still.
weird move, considering he was quite good for them this season. generated [more offense with him](https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/teamShotLocOffWi/2324/DAL/lundkni00/wrap) compared to [without](https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/teamShotLocOffWo/2324/DAL/lundkni00/wrap), which they could’ve used in the playoffs. he [wasn’t too shabby defensively](https://hockeyviz.com/fixedImg/teamShotLocDefWi/2324/DAL/lundkni00/wrap) either. benching him but keeping Suter in the lineup was a big reason why they lost in the WCF — they couldn’t break the puck out. also weird to do this after trading Tanev’s rights. Dallas has only 2 D signed to play this upcoming season
