  1. Unfortunately they have to overpay to get players to come to Buffalo. Just the way it is. Nobody wants to come here

  2. He also had 214 hits on top of 90+ blocked shots last season. He will fill the need of grit & physicality on the Sabres. I like the acquisition. Hits & physicality are 2 big needs come playoffs.

  3. They can’t afford to be cheap I also don’t like that trade they made also I would like to add that GMKA needs to be fired today

  4. It’s going to be so relieving seeing a team that hits again in Buffalo. I hope Malenstyn sets off a spark that gets other players on the team to hit. We need it to not only make the playoffs but win in the playoffs.

  5. caps fan here, probaly an overpay ,even worse aesthtics is that caps got hutson with that pick.
as far as the player he is all effort, does not make mistakes while being aggressive, scoring with the caps team playing style is hard for anyone. i will miss this guy, he is just entering his prime dont be surprised if this deal looks a little more even next year.

  6. Don't forget the influence of Lindy Ruff at the point. He will not rely on a team of Ice Dancers. He knows he needs some skilled toughness and he will add more. That will make change for the better IMHO

  7. He led the capitals in hits, blocked shots and penalty killing time. Plus he’s mean. I’ll take him all day long.

  8. Last year was his first full year in the NHL. He’s had a couple call-ups stints before. It’s not a bad deal, even if people think we overpaid. Years ago, Nashville gave us a first round pick for Gaustad. Do you think they regret it? I don’t.
