Unfortunately it makes sense. He was good for us, but you want to get rid of that Logan for the kids and save some cap space in the process. I wish him nothing but the best. Waddell isn’t fucking around he’s cleaning house and committing to the rebuild.
This strikes me as odd considering his QO is only $827K…

It’s weird not keeping him. But also, playing with Johnny is a big reason why he had so much success with us. Theres no way when we have a healthy team that he plays up there

I liked him lots but Waddell said he wanted to add vets. I’d expect to see that too.
I’m a little shocked by this but I can understand it. His shooting percentage was over 20% I’m pretty sure and that was way above any other season in his career and he definitely started to trail off after the initial flash in the pan weeks. I would’ve given him a one year deal at like 2-2.5 million but I’m not upset by this either. Waddell has been a busy man today.
Was a fun stretch to watch him… but time to make room for our young guys to get more ice time and space for vets to show them how to be pros. Fine with it
Yet another mediocre post hype player. In this case, it’s a guy we needed to avoid getting obsessed with ahead of time. Completely unsustainable success.
A feel good story for sure, but utlimately that’s business. This falls in line with my rhetoric before of us overvaluing our players and being bummed when it doesn’t work out.
It’s totally okay to feel that way. Waddell unfortunately doesn’t operate like that. There’s going to be some unpopular decisions that will hopefully benefit the team in the end even if they sting in the moment.

A realistic decision that I honestly think we wouldn’t have made under Jarmo. I hope he can find another spot in the league and continue an upward trajectory there.
