    A lot in here:

    * Says Stamkos is the only impactful forward signing left post Kane “there is no one else on the list of free-agent right wings worth the money to sign”

    * Calls out by name players who would not be worth adding: Bertuzzi, DeBrusk, Marchessault, Toffoli.

    * Emphasizes the importance of cap space for 2025-26 (Igor, Laf, Miller extensions)

    * Trouba: Going to waivers if he does not approve a Detroit trade “The decision has been made”

It’s wild that Gordon gave Trouba 8 million 5 years ago. That’s just insanely overpayed even when his final year with the Jets was decent. He was getting paid like the best defensman in the league, and it’s still too much today with the cap going up. Gorton should take the blame in a lot of this situation going on. Maybe the most.

  3. A lot of names on the wrong side of 30. We need to find a way to get youth

Also love that they are pushing out trouba (which according to vince is not sitting well with the team) yet are looking to extend miller? Outside of a hotstreak, miller has been fucking awful for over a year and approaching 2. A big part of it is that he is a big guy who plays like he is zac jones size.

Idk what is gonna come from this offseason but it seems shits gonna go down. But they better not push trouba out only to give a bad contract to an old player

Sucks that Guentzel is going to Tampa. He’s not as old as Stamkos and a whole lot better, but he’ll probably cost a fortune.

It also sucks that they have to give Igor so much money next year. I think Cup winning teams rarely have goalies that highly paid and with how hot and cold he was last season it could be a disaster in a few years.

I think it will be a pretty quiet deadline overall. No big splashes for the Rangers.

Larry’s been all over the place, from relentlessly pumping old man Kane’s tires to claiming the *only* way the Rangers could open cap enough to make a splash was to trade Kreider. Now his beloved Kane is a Red Wing and they have plenty of money from doing the obvious and dumping Trouba and the answer is to sign…no one? Most of the guys he mentioned will be as productive/impactful as Kane with similar short-term contracts. Guy is losing it

MCDAVID. DRAISATL. NOW. DO IT. DO IT NOW.

  7. Just pay our guys well and focus on the prospects IMO.

Anyone think that this drama around Goodrow and Trouba isn’t factoring in on Drury being unable to sign guys? Let’s see how bad this off season turns out to be because of all this.

Kane is probably the greatest and most decorated American player of all time. I wouldn’t have minded giving him another shot here, but this is far from the end of the world.

Kane’s camp leaked that the rangers were involved so he could get more money out of Detroit. I have a feeling Drury ain’t sad that Kane is out of the picture.

  11. >Marchessault probably comes closest to potentially being a difference-maker against the Puddy Tats after indeed scoring four goals against Florida in the 2023 final on his way to the Conn Smythe Trophy with the Cup champion Golden Knights, but the 33-year-old’s price would likely be prohibitive. **Plus, he’s 5-foot-9 and I don’t think the objective is to get smaller.**

Fuck Kane. Sign Bertuzzi. Keep Troubs. Stop this hullshit. Also Larry is a knob.

I’m sorry but saying busted kneed Stamkos is the only notable guy left when Conn Smythe winning March is out there as well as admittedly an enigmatic but high ceiling DeBrusk is also available is an asinine take by Larry
