Yeah…..this is a good move for rangers, one that they should have done when they decided to make him captain.
My thoughts as a Rangers fan… you don’t play a single game on a broken ankle especially if it’s the playoffs. That’s an I/ME mentality when you do that there’s no part of any team involved, we had two or even three players in our farm system that could have made far better decisions on the ice because they were healthy.
Off ice leadership doesn’t get anyone far it’s about winning on the ice CYA!

As a rangers fan I’ve always defended Trouba he’s not as useless as alot of fans say but this had to happen his cap hit is holding the team back and in the biggest moments of the rangers seasons he’s been pretty bad and the fact he’s shocked and feelings are hurt is irrelevant to me and he’s a bonehead if he thought he was safe this offseason he is is pretty easily replaceable with much less cap hit

rangers lost in the playoffs because of this one player!! he spent half the games in the box and then was on the ice for the majority of the goals against. If Trouba actually knew his own stats maybe he would look in the mirror and say to himself.."man i guess i really do suck"
Look you can't be that harsh on Trouba management is at fault for making him a captain and giving him a undeserving contract if he were a consistent player i would disagree on his trade but his play leaves anything to be desired and to be a captain means being a leader who has the last word, the leader the team looks up to, defend your teammates and going above and beyond.
