My only concern is Siegs as a top 2 dman…. he’s gotten worse every year he’s been here. Hope getting Dillon and Pesce take some pressure off of him

Other than Dillon on the 3rd pair, the other 5 can move up and down depending on how things go. Haven’t seen a D corps and goalie tandem this solid since 2012

we this setup and Silayev. I think we sign some cheap bottom 6 forward and then we trade for someone to top 6 and I think Casey might be in the mix…

This is promising and exciting. I think, as fans, we get hung up on the missing pieces. Then, the pieces appear, and we expect things to just click. I’m hoping for some chemistry from this team this go around. I agree with the masses, we needed a defensive core that can supplement the speed of the forwards. We need to beef up that depth scoring. The goalie question needed to be answered tenfold. But genuinely, as a lifelong devils fan, what we need more than any single piece, is momentum. There needs to be a significant cultural belief in that locker room that they are there for each other and that they have the team they’ve been working to build. Veterans like Dillon and Pesce will definitely contribute to that culture, but I’m not gonna get too excited about this lineup until I’m watching them buy in and step up for each other. With the right attitude, yeah, this lineup slaps regardless of who gets hurt, within reason. With the wrong attitude and a big injury like Dougie, the whole season will be a wash, and we’ll be flipping it all around again in a year.
Gimme one more top six and I might just get excited before October. I think the boys will too. That’s gonna be huge coming out of the gate- pure excitement to play and win together.
