Some of these contracts are absolutely brutal though

Regardless of what happened with him, his contract would still be here and we’d be in the same situation of not being able to sign anyone. CMAC says he expects him to be reinstated and back on the team.

Seeing some of these prices though… yikes

An extra 6 milly wouldn’t get us much in this market. Probably time to lay off the Nuke hate train and hope he gets his life together and plays back to his old ways.

  5. Obviously very different circumstances, but Landy’s contract is just as much of a hindrance currently. $13 million tied up in players that may or may not return this season.

  6. We got a top 6 for another year for 2.5m. We let our 4th line center go to Wild at 3.5m x 4 years.

Name a player and price that was worth paying? Keep in mind we have to sign Moose at end of 2025, and O’Connor

We don’t have a 4th line. Cogs retired, the other two went to Wild for more than 5m maybe 6m? We don’t need a super star, we need to get used to Nuke will be back in 2025, like it or not, that’s the NHLPA terms and Cmac said so.

We also need roll players who can play greasy, win face offs, and shut down other teams when we have lead in a physical game. The core is there, we have money for roll players, bottom 6 guys and AHL players to make the jump is what we need
