57 games, 10 points and +2 on a terrible Coyotes teams for Josh Brown. Desharnais 78 games, 11 points, +3 on a far better team. I don't see that as a downgrade just comparing the production stats, though I don't know anything about the player. Apparently he was the guy McDavid had the hardest time against in juniors though, so it could have been a McDavid decision to get him.

Let’s hope the Oilers are smarter than Austin on the Josh Brown signing !! Who wants to hear they signed the worst NHL player , some how I doubt that a lot of!! If Kaner goes we need a big tough guy who can score, not easy to find those , we need more size and toughness, Skinner is smaller if they can get him, hopefully he isn’t seeking sunshine and warmth after years in Buffalo !! I know he has little or none playoff experience……
Happy day for me as a Habs fan and Hockey fan. Im a big fan of the Preds and with their already great roster with additions of Stammer Skjei and Marchy. They are my 2025 or 2026 Champs. Edmonton gets a improvement version of Foegele imo in Arvidsonn. And as a Habs fan. We got 8×7.6 for Slaf and Barré-Boulet
Apparently Brown finished +2 while playing for the Coyotes? I mean, that team wasn't very good, so maybe he's not as bad as his personal stats indicate? If he's got better support around him, and maybe better coaching, perhaps he's actually an upgrade from Desharnais? I guess we'll see..
Also, 1m is peanuts IMO.. I'm sure they can find a way to bury his contract if it really comes down to it and he isn't performing…

You're not thinking this Josh Brown thing through. Kane is gone and so is Desharnais, we have always needed a "Mcsorely" type, and this is his role. I care not if he gets a single point, there must be someone who can deal "consequences" on the ice, great choice.
