I’m not even a Preds fan and I’m erect. Huge for you guys.

    4 years for 8 million isn’t bad

  3. ilyalyubushkin46

I honestly didn’t think he’d be anywhere outside if Tampa.

Peter Forsberg, Paul Kariya, Olli Jokinen, Steve Sullivan, Jason Arnott, Mike Ribeiro (yeah this one’s a stretch), Steven Stamkos. Can’t remember which of these were trades vs. free agency, but that’s a sizeable collection of post-30s forward acquisitions that had big name value with other franchises.

  5. I hate that he’s gone, but $8 million+ AAV to a guy in his mid 30’s is a risky play. Good luck Stammer

A small part of me hoped he’d land on the Island, but I knew his price would be high and make that unrealistic. I’m glad he didn’t if $8mm is the price.

Really thought he would at least stay in the Eastern conference… It’s gonna be really weird to see him in a yellow jersey. But I love what Trotz is trying to do. (And Marchessault too 😲) I can’t wait to see how the team will do in the next season

Why are we so bad at keeping our legends until retirement

  9. Perfect-Tip4618

After Kane stuck around for another year it had me holding my breath Stamkos might sign in Detroit.

40 goals last season. If he pots half that (20) in year 4 it’ll still be worth it.

  11. The_Stank__

Stammer and Marchy. Pretty excited to see what this season holds

    Nashville Predators Legend Steven Stamkos

  13. luisquin

Man he deserved to retire in Tampa and be captain till the end. I can’t picture him in another team and not as captain

  14. Clean_Priority_4651

About 2 million more per year than he should have been offered. So from the Preds perspective, it’s 8 million extra for someone who is Hall of Fame.

As an Avs fan, I’m so glad a division rival just signed a 34 year old to a big 4 year deal. I’m sure in 2028 they’re going to be happy with this.

Gonna be weird seeing him in a Nashville jersey…. Always thought he would be a bolt for life.

  17. Danroy12345

Wow didn’t think he would be leaving Tampa. But you gotta get that bag.

Isn’t Tennessee one of the few states with as low of an income tax as Florida?

  20. Ok_Artichoke_2804

I’m so used to seeing Stamkos in a Tampa jersey… it’s gonna take me a hot minute to get used to seeing him in any other jersey…..

Honestly thought Tampa would keep him until he retired- a franchise player…

  21. EnoughStatus7632

I’m very upset that he took the money and ran. Unless we super lowballed him…
