I didn't even notice teams not congratulating the Florida about winning the cup 😂 I never really cared for that or the speeches. Even without it, the first round was still 3-3.5 hours long.
Having teams thank that year's Stanley Cup champions at the NHL draft kind of reminds me of how Roman Reigns would always say Acknowledge Me.

I never understood the congratulations at the draft because half the teams never did it anyways, and that number's been really going down in recent years
Anything that gets draft go quicker is positive in my book. No need to congrats and thanks champion, host of the drafts or fan's viewing party. Waste of time. Draft is LONG enough as it is.
