This is a really smart signing. Brannstrom was the center piece of the Mark Stone trade and just never did well in Ottawa. Its a HUGE amount of upside for basically the league minimum.

brannstrom, malinkski, and de hann… battling for the 5/6 dman slots. worried malinkski and de haan will get over powered if played together.
I’ve got a feeling malinkski is going to get sent down if he doesn’t play regularly.

Good value signing, he has some talent. It’ll be interesting to see how he fits, tough to imagine he and Malinski playing together, so they may end up with a double-lefty third pairing if he wins a spot there. Either way, can’t have too many options on the blue line.
