He’s definitely a guy who was beat up at the bus stop most of the time.

  2. Key-Tip-7521

Yeah who’s this guy Brett? But Larry definitely gets beaten up at a bus stop

  3. I went to school with Larry, he was a good friend in middle school. Could always count on him giving me lunch money at the bus stop.

  4. so which part do we not believe? cuz Friedman reported Trouba was getting traded too a few days ago

Two things are true about Larry: for one, he’s been in the game for a long time and definitely has a pulse on what’s happening behind the scenes in the org. On the other hand, his opinion pieces are usually pretty bad and his takes on what the team should do are almost always god awful. If there’s anything about a story that’s still up for speculation, take whatever he has to say with a grain of salt.

This subreddit is so weird sometimes. When Larry Brooks report something you like all of a sudden coming from him it’s gospel, like when he said that the rangers would be trading trouba, but then when Larry Brooks says something don’t like, he’s an unreliable clown who gets his lunch money stolen at the bus stop, like right now because you’re unhappy with the reports that trouba is making trading in difficult because he understandably doesn’t want to move and either be long distance from his wife or make his wife have to move out of her medical practice position. No part of what Larry brooks reporting seems inaccurate or implausible, so I don’t know why everybody is jumping on him for saying it, and regardless of what trouba wants he will almost definitely be gone from the team because we can’t afford to pay 8 million dollars for a defenseman borderline shouldn’t be on the ice

Damn between this and Torts… Brooks has always been a little shitgibbon.

Wild to me how Larry is a bum when he reports something we don’t like but he’s fine when it’s something we do. I for one think we’re lucky to have him even if we don’t agree with everything. That said, I do think the Trouba stuff has been a bad look for him

I’ve got no real issue with Brooks. I think his opinion pieces are almost always bad, but he’s obviously close to the team and has been a fan forever.

    Now Mollie – she’s a keeper.

    A piece of shit?

    A fucking moron?

A putz who thinks he’s the Rangers GM?

    All of the above???

  11. QuickRelease10

The trade rumors are whatever, but I think dragging his wife into it is cause for getting beaten up at the bus stop. Ugly stuff right now.

  12. Brooks was right though. Not a fan of his but letting Stralman go and bringing in Boyle was a terrible move. 101 points that year and a 4-1 first round loss and losers are like ‘remember that that POS Brooks criticized that’ lol. Legit know nothings here. This is the same mentality as thinking screaming at teammates is leadership.

Man i hated Dan Boyle on this team it wasnt his fault they didnt wanna resign brian boyle for the same amount of money but I do recall this being a beautiful moment while he was here

NYR fans know that Brooksie is an unreliable source. For years, he has had salty relationships with players and coaches. Unfortunately the general sports/hockey media picked up the « the decision’s been made on Trouba » piece and plastered it all over the place yesterday as if it were properly sourced, and the same may happen with the piece about Trouba’s family. The Post doesn’t care because no one else really covers the Rangers (Athletic is $) so they let Brooks be Brooks.

  15. Funny how nobody seemed to have a problem with Trouba’s private life when he was traded here – oh wait how do Winnipeg fans feel about that? And then when his name comes up in trade discussions now it’s an issue?

Funny how everyone’s pants comes off when Larry writes about Kane coming here, but the second he writes something controversial everyone clutches their pearls and he’s the scum of the earth.

My favorite Larry Brooks pieces were about John Tortorella and the video of Torts telling Brooksie to “Fuck Off.”![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)

I completely forgot Dan Boyle was on the team

For the life of me I can’t understand why Brooks brought Trouba’s wife into this and like fully name dropped her. And then went into detail on their situation. He knew exactly what he was doing with this article, he gave the bad part of this fanbase a target to put blame on.
