  1. Became an Oilers fan this year because by gosh they earned a crap-tonne of respect in the league – in pro sports, for that matter. I'm really looking forward to seeing how things go for them next year. Will be nice to see Canucks progressing and of course my beloved Canadians – I think they are going to improve a lot. Hopefully playoff-bound.

  2. Let’s not forget that slavkosky contract also stops him from having to think about the contract which has been shown to have its effect on players when they’re not doing good. I think it’ll turn out to be a great deal for them

  3. There's a reason the Sabres bought out Skinner's contract. He makes nice plays and scores when he's on the top line and doesn't have defensive responsibility. Put him with younger guys or role players and he disappears. In sum, good players make him good, while he can not make other players better.

  4. Feel so bad for Campbell, I remember seeing him play for the U.S. juniors from 16-18 and thinking he was the next phenom back then…to see his career go as it has and essentially peter out in the fashion it has recently for such a genuinely nice guy too is rough

  5. Nice move on the Flames part to bring back Ryan Lomberg as he is pain to play against & a thorn in the side especially to the Oilers🤣 He reminds me a little of Anaheims GM Pat Verbeek when he played minus the vitrol & points stats.

  6. what the habs are doing is actually starting to get really scary. insane prospect pool over there and even the older guys that are locked in are still young.

  7. As a Habs fan (not to say a sell out 😅) I’m very happy with what the organization is trying to do, I’m optimistic with that rebuilt! I think we might see the team go far in the playoffs in a couple of seasons.

  8. I see that the high and mighty betteman and the nhl are the judge jury and executioner of the five hockey players ACCUSED of sexual assault as junior players the cbc and the rest of the media are complicit in finding the accused guilty. I thought that in Canada you were innocent until found guilty in a REAL court of law and not the KANGAROO COURT presided over by the useless piece of skin betteman.

  9. I will root for the Oil drop no matter who is in the line-up. But when will they realize that the defense needs work? Oh I know, let's trade away Desharnais, our biggest defenseman who actually takes the body.

  10. I think Evander Kane could be on LTIR next season.
Oilers will hopefully start playing the cap game properly, and giving some prospects opportunities too. Instead of running injured veteran players in the regular season into the playoffs like they did with Ceci last year and Kane this one.

  11. Really happy as a habs fan for the future. Just look at the leafs, their top 3,4 guys all making 11 million or more and we all know how that has worked out. I like the culture we’re building. Top 3 guys all making less than 8 mil, kinda sets the bar you know? Like you’re not gonna be making more than the captain typa thing. Allows us a lot more cap space to spend on depth players once we’re ready to compete. Super pumped.

  12. I love what the oilers did. I know people citized holland when he came in, but he was great as a gm. The new guy at the office is banging. Skinner and Ardvidsson finally give Edmonton the good top 6 wingers they desperatly needed for Mcdavid and Draisatl. Bonus it that if either of them gets injured, nugent hopkins, a center playing winger, can slide into the center position and still get a scary trio regardless

  13. Who cares what Evander Kane thinks. The guy is a douchebag. The only positive that came from the Oilers not winning the cup is that Kane’s name won’t be on it! 🤣

  14. I see Slaf's contract as a huge vote of confidence towards him and the future of the team. I also think though it's quite risky, I just hope he's not that "oh I got myself a big contract, now I don't care if i suck for a few seasons, I'm gonna get paid so who cares" type of player.

  15. Oilers fan here. Slaf is straight up getting the draisaitl treatment, and it's probably going to play out similarly. The Jeff Skinner contract, i think, is the bargain of the free agency so far. He's shown he can score 35 with 2 teams. Now, he gets the most stacked forward group in the league to play with.

  16. Any long term contract is a gamble. If Slafkovsky puts up a70+ point season next year, this contract will seem like a bargain.

  17. Oilers got better after being to a cup final, that does not happen much. Sometimes teams blow up and break apart after finals loses. But not the oilers i guess..

  18. Or there should’ve been making these kind of moves every year for the past six or seven years. Every year you have McDavid is a chance to win the cup. Crosby Kane Gretzky. Etc. All won when they were young. We’ve blown it. Better do it this year because this could be it?!!

  19. I get why people don’t like the slafzilla deal but personally i just love it having our first line at less then 8mil each could be a huge bargain in 2-3 years

  20. Anyone who cant see that the Slaf signing is a really good one doesnt understand how these things work.
They're going to save MILLIONS, than had they waited another year for him to really show his star power.

  21. Sad to see Skinny move to Edmonton but he’s going to be a good weapon on Edmonton’s second or third line

  22. As a Habs fan, i think that the Slaf contract is an ABSOLUTE steal. If he takes another leap and can reach the 65-70 pts mark this upcoming season, we get a real first line thats not 40M$ like toronto and we can try to sign other good complimentary pieces around the core that we have to make the Playoffs and go all the way in the future

  23. I’m hyped for the Slaf contract it could easily become the best in the league in a few years when the cap goes up

  24. That Skinner stat is ridiculous. 😳 Would be awesome if he could not only play his first playoff games, but to win the cup, too. One can hope. 🤞🏼😁
