Perhaps showing some ignorance here, but do people refer to the Dallas Stars as « Texas Hockey »?

Let’s see how this looks. I’d imagine Doug will get a bargain especially since it’s not the first day of free agency. 1 year left solid replacement for Hayes.

3.25m, one year left on his current deal.

So far, feels like we traded an underperformer for another with salaries similar except we moved down one round in the draft.
Someone show me where we improved from Hayes.
I’m not being a dick, genuinely asking.

Stars fan coming in peace. He is a jack of all trades, good penalty killer, tenacious, doesn’t take too many penalties. He was the perfect piece of tape for a lot of injury situations. Going to miss that guy, take good care of him for us.
I remember when we played them during the cup run I was really impressed with Faksa. He was kind of like their Sundqvist at the time. Totally fine with him providing some competition for spots in the bottom 6.

You take the good, you take the bad, you take em both and there ya have the Faksa life🎵

Hi Blues fans!
I think the fanbase generally liked Faksa, as long as the coaches didn’t elevate him above where he needs to be in the lineup (Bowness was bad about that).
He’s the quintessential low-event player. Other teams don’t get many scoring chances when he’s one the ice. And neither does his own team. He’s pretty good on faceoffs and the PK. He’s not really fighter, but he has occasionally fought. He’s not a speedster, but I haven’t really noticed him getting into trouble because of lack of speed either.
He’ll do fine as either a 3C or 4C as long you don’t expect much offense from the line he’s on. He can also play LW.
Tell your coach not to use him as the net-front presence on the PP. Some coaches (cough, Bowness) see the faceoff skill and big body and galaxy-brain themselves into thinking a guy with no offensive instincts should be on the PP.

Hope that helps. Happy offseason.
