@Canucks de Vancouver

  1. All Tocchet type signings today! The terms on all the signings we (may) have missed out on were ridiculous..

  2. Mikheyev 2.0 streaky speedy winger exactly what we were sold on Mikheyev put some respect on Burrows name Debrusk is a quarter of the player Burrows was

  3. "he can bury the puck". Huh? Burrows had one plus 30 goal season with 35. I'm sure that is no where near burying the puck. LMAO. You are expecting an average 40 point, 20 goal scorer to be a 1st or 2nd line player? I guess, that's ok since they tried PDG and Suter there, but they didn't get $5mil and how did they do? LOL. They could of signed proven scorers for just a little more or even less which is really puzzling.

  4. I’m with you on this!!! I don’t know why so many fans in this fanbase are so pessimistic about everything, especially without ever looking at the data or facts.

  5. LOL as a bruins fan I'll tell you…. A) you did not add toughness. B) this guy disappears for large stretches every year C) comparing him to burroughs is something only a person would say that has never seen Jake play (tis sheer folly…you will learn to hate him for large stretches of the season & love him about 15% of the time) D) If he doesn't get put on the line he wants with the line mates he wants be prepared to see him ask for a trade, the kid is a big baby. Thanx for signing him, the fans, his team mates & organization frankly just got sick of wondering which JD we would get each & every game, no heart.

  6. Another side note, if you think about it, this is kind of part of the Lindholm, Kuzmenko trade. As the Canucks paid that price for Lindholm, as well as to free up 5.5 million in cap.

    This is what the team chose to use that cap on. If it works out, that trade will look much better in the coming years.

  7. As a Bruins fan, I never quite warmed up to him, especially after witnessing some frustrating moments like temper tantrums and a seeming lack of motivation on and off the ice. However, I can't deny his talent and the contributions he made to B's during his time here. Hopefully, this change of scenery will be a positive for him and the new fans will appreciate what he brings to the table. Plus, he will be closer to his family! Wishing him and Nucks' all the best!

  8. Luke was right Canucks suck. And like the sabres they will never win a cup.. The owners are a joke don't spend money on marquis players..lindh9lm/zadorov/joshua their best players in playoffs and wont sign them is proof of there incompetence. Owners dont have winning mentality and never spend. Dont say the cap, they can make room. The best forward theyve had in 30 years is marcus naslund..messier didnt count..its a loser franchise for a loser city. Luke was right. Unfortunately canada will never win a stanley cup again. Welcome to the new nhl where american owners buy cups$$$ if you think debrusk is better then any of those guys you dont know whats up my friend

  9. Hope he works out. As for his dad, I have NO IDEA what he's doing in braodcasting. He is THE WORST colour wing-man in hockey broadcasting, and it's not even close. His trite, cliche comments, that flow from his mouth all games long, WHETHER OR NOT they are even applicable (he SO OFTEN just says things that have entered his head that he's been programmed to say 1 million times a season, when the VERY THING HE'S SUGGESTING doesn't even occur!); GOD DAMN, I can't stand to listen to him (Edmonton bias or not; that's not even close to his biggest problem, like a Jack Edwards call). Sportsnet, PLEASE take this boring idiot OFF THE AIR! "Yeah, he's come to play tonight"… Ugh!

  10. Great video !
    Well done ! Love the quiet demeaner and business-like approach of Canucks mgmnt.
    Regardelss of exactly who each new signe up is
    I believe the system, coach and management plan, will overcome the doubters and naysayers.

  11. To say you aren't going to pay a guy 5.5 to play on your third line is old thinking. That's becoming more and more the norm and DeBrusk no matter where you play him produces like a 3rd liner. He'll score you 20ish goals he'll get your 40-50 points. He's also learned in the last couple of years how to play defensive hockey. He's a good back checker and he'll be one of your better penalty killing wingers. If that all sounds like a 3rd liner to you congrats. He's a third liner who's been over slotted the last few years because of lack of better options. And that's fine for Boston they play a unique scheme where it's more about defense and possession anyhow. Jakes got speed to burn and maybe with the right center his production will elevate. But I wouldn't expect it to be much. He's played with David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron and only had limited success. His ceiling is 30 goals 60 points and I'm not sure he'll ever reach it.
    I'll also tell you "Drives possession" isn't true of DeBrusk. He doesn't keep the puck in the offensive zone effectively at all. He's not a great cycle player, he isn't great at winning board battles. He's good at carrying to puck with speed in a straight line. Put an obstacle in his path? Slows way down. He's not shifty at all he's a straight line player. He can help you with stretching the zone for sure. If you want to run fly plays to get quick zone exits he can do that for you.
