Monty does very well during the season but is having trouble in playoffs
wish I could find Montgomery's original comments…
We should be focusing on the players who dropped an absolute goose-egg in the play-off’s, not Monty.
Monty is single handily responsible for all the too many men calls in the playoffs!!! How is no one talking about this???? I was pissed watching those games and he had guys mix matching lines every shift! It was ridiculous!!
I never seen a coach get a pass for this too many men calls on the team!! Unbelievable!!
I won’t be sad if he’s gone
I couldn’t care less about regular season record…see Winnipeg coach
Monty did everything possible given the roster he had…. who expected to us go deep with four #3 centers?
He's in the barber's chair.
I think last years playoffs is enough to question his capabilities. Particularly with the goaltending. You can clearly tell by game 5 that Ullmark is playing hurt, but instead of going with Swayman for game 6 you play Ully again and finally suit up Swayman for 7? It was too late dude. If he had played Swayman in game 6 who knows what happens from there. I like Montgomery, he seems like a great person to be around, but if he has another poor playoff showing then I wont be against looking for a replacement. Yes, credit is due when you consider he took them to the 2nd round last year and took the series against Florida to 6 games given the roster he had. But, the Bruins seemed to have a really hard time staying away from too many men on ice penalties. Thats a coaching issue. I dont know if the Bruins wouldve ever beaten the Panthers in a best of 7 this year, but stuff like that doesnt help.
How about Don Sweeneys last season, which shouldve been 2016.
You fire Monty you lose all the culture he’s built it’s. Or his fault that you had guys like JVR and Morgan geekie and other mid players 😂
Monty is a good coach !
All the off season Boston coaches! Go take your seats and chew on your lollipops
The team massively overachieved this year. The coach should get a lot of credit for this.
and why didn't Sweeney try to resign often maligned Debrusk or even Heinen? Sure, they got stuck with that mediocre goalie in the Ulmark trade that chewed up the cap space.
Sadly, it’s what have you done for me lately in sports
Monty is a great regular season coach. He's overachieved both years. Last season's team was band aided together and he still almost won the division. Two years ago, he had best record ever that no one expected at the start of that season. In the playoffs, he has his issues for sure … either tinkers with lines too much or staying with Ullmark too long in the 2023 Floriday series, which cost them big.
yall are reaching. typical sports talk bs
In Shweeneys, 9 Years, they've gone beyond the 2nd round 1 time, so it ain't all on the coach. The debacle that took place regarding the 2015 draft, has had a lingering affect on this team, and that wasn't the coach.
Slow news day?
