  1. I think the culture of losing is what scares UFAs from Toronto. If I was a UFA, i would want to go to the place where I have the best chance to win. That is not Toronto.

  2. Free agents are signing. Wtf is he talking about. Maybe it Mitch that’s the issue, his teammates having to tell him to grow up on the bench so everyone can see.

  3. Why is Marner the scapegoat for the Leafs failure? Dude makes 3 million less than Matthews, has 10 less career points than him and had 1 less point than him in round 1. When you're paying over 45 million for 4 players, literally more than half the salary cap, and none of them can move the needle in the playoffs, you're screwed.

  4. Non of the core 4 show up in the playoffs but somehow Marner gets all the blame they should be trying everything to trade Tavares not Marner they just don't like Marner he has always been on a shorter leash then every other player they don't like him personally cause he has always called out the toxic Media in Toronto.

  5. Guys dont want to play with guys who listen to Justin Bieber and love playing golf. They want to play with guys who listen to Metallica and love playing hockey

  6. Remember, this is the fan base that booed a Stanley Cup winning Hall of Fame defence man out of town.

This is also a fan base that turned on their captain and best player when he wouldn’t waive his no move clause.

The Marner situation is going to be the same thing. Marner is probably going to be the best winger to ever play for the Maple Leafs all while the fan base is chasing him out of town while cuddling their two other more selfish super stars.

There is a reason why Matthews demanded to start playing with Mitch and that was he knew Mitch would be able to help inflate his numbers to get the big pay cheque. Mission Accomplished.

Nylander disappeared in the regular season once he got paid. Those are the two guys that this fan base is committed too.

Can’t wait for Marner to walk and pull a Larry Murphy.

  7. Why sign with the Leafs if the media wants to run all-star and future hall of Famers out of town. If you not putting up close to 100 points even when not playing all 82 games what will the media do or say about you. One of the better two way players in the game and you don't want him because he is the problem. Supporting cast has been good enough either but how do get the right ones if media scares good players away.

  8. You misread E F's quote. It is not that Marner is scaring players away from Toronto. It is what Marner's situation says about the organization. Brian Burke talks about it a little in his book Burkes Law, and John Shannon who spent years inside the Temple that is MLSE has also talked about it on Bob McCowan's podcast. The whole inter play between the fan base , social, and the Leafs is dysfunctional. They all want it so bad that it gets in the way of achieving it. When the average NHL player (who are simple folks by in large) sees the psycho drama that is Toronto –they avoid it like a crazy Ex girlfriend.

  9. Compare Marner with Brayden Point. Both similar age, SHOULD have had similar value and signed at the exact same time. Marner took 11×6, Point took 6.75×3 and then extended at 9.5×8.

One won, the other lost. One shows up, the other ghosts. Marner does not deserve the raise he wants. He can get it elsewhere.

  10. Thats it!!!! Im done! I have to ask…..

What the heck is Lego saying at the end of his video????

    "SOMETHING, SOMETHING, SOMETHING AND BYE"

  11. I think there’s some legitimacy to this. Got to ask yourself why Florida teams have won three out of the last five Stanley Cups. I guarantee there’s less media scrutiny there.

  12. Friedman has never played a game of hockey his whole life. He’s just a glorified reporter.

  13. Lego gets it right when he says Marner does this to himself. He is the one not living up to his huge cap hit and just makes excuses. Matthews keeps breaking goal records and Nylander has been outplaying his deal the last 2 seasons so Marner is clearly the underachiever in everyone's eyes.

  14. don't blame them the way the fans and media turn on their own, who would want to be a part of that

  15. I'm no Leafs fan, but seriously? Has any team won the Stanley Cup without an elite or at least damn good goalie? This reminds me of the Bobby Clark Flyers era in which he refused to get a good goalie and their four year window came and went!

  16. im pretty sure its the classless media and fanbase in toronto scaring players off. sure thing let me sign up to play for people who are gonna print shitty ads about me and treat me like dirt when im at my worst. no one wanting to play in toronto is result of the culture. people there should try having the slightest bit of class
