If the rumours about the knee issue with Hakanpää are correct & he can't pass the fitness evaluation, then keeping Timmins is a damn good idea. I think he can play & deserves to be at least their 7th D to cycle in & out of the lineup. I honestly don't think they'll have trouble replacing Bert's 21 goals. Dewar has had surgery to repair his shoulder & I think he, McMann, Knies & Robertson will all produce more offence this season. Stolarz will be a step up from Samsonov imo. No question the D is improved with Tanev & OEL signing as UFA's.
It is borderline hilarious that Robertson is allegedly requesting a trade. You're 22. You're an RFA with NO arb rights, so STFU & play. You have zero leverage other than withholding your services like Nylander did in 2018. How did that work out for Bill? He came within a pube of missing his entire season listening to his idiot agent Louis Gross. He, not Gross called Dubas at the 11th hour & split the difference on their positions. He was at 8M & Dubas was at 6M. They settled at 6.9M. They could've done that in August, but Gross thought Dubas would cave in to the 8M.

No stacking the top 2 lines anymore. mathews, marner and nylander on separate lines. They need to earn the money. Have to be able to run 4 lines all season. We need more size upfront.

I don’t understand why they would give Liljeren 3m, when Bertuzzi was willing to re-sign for 5.5 yes it’s an overpay for Bertuzzi but so is 3m for Lilly. Take away the Jani & Lilly signings and you could have kept a power forward in your top 6
I’m not a Mapleleaf a fan, but I do think they the $92 million for William. Nylander was crazy and the money they’re paying millions of dollars the only person that I think should’ve got more money is Austin Matthews but it insane because eventually you guys are going to have so many cap space
