I don’t see how an arbitrator would look at his raw stats and say “This player is worth over $4m.” This might be really good for the team.

Most of these get settled before the actual hearing. Pretty standard stuff, most arbitration eligible players elect for it.

suppose this leads to trouba being bought out
would either of the islanders or devils actually even WANT to sign him?
nassau coliseum is probably too far from tribeca anyway for his tastes

2nd buyout window, buyout Trouba no doubt. Addition by subtraction without him and Goodrow big time

Would anyone be surprised to see a trade. The special relationship with Rangers South continues. Carolina always takes things personal, plus this is a RBA type player… Lindy and a bag of pucks for Jack Drury.

And now the Rangers have a second buyout round to get rid of Trouba if they really want to do that.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge, can someone explain what this is and what it means?

Does this impact his odds of being traded?
2nd buyout window?
This is expected but notable because it means that once Lindgren either signs or has his arbitration case settled, we will have another buyout window.
At this point I’m not sure if buying out Trouba would even help us, but it’s an option that is on the table again.
NYR are guaranteed a 2nd buyout window following whenever his free agency is settled, regardless of actual arbitration or not.
Lindgren is guaranteed to make no less than $3.06m if it goes to arbitration
