I'm not sold. All their top players are too old and past their prime.
I have been a season ticketholder of the Nashville Predators for 24 years now… And that level of dynamic offense has been something that has alluded the franchise for its entire existence. All of us here in Nashville are absolutely ecstatic to have each of them. For the first time, it feels as though we can now roll three lines with confidence. This traditionally offensively anemic team just got a shot in the arm. Let's just keep in mind that Josi, Forsberg, and Saros aren't getting any younger either… Plus this also provides ample experience and learning opportunity for the youngsters within the organization. How I wish GMDP would have taken such a splash when he had Pekka in his prime. Leave it to Barry Trotz, a defensive-minded from the net out coach turned GM, to bring it to us. I have been watching every defensive iteration of this franchise for so long that we don't need Stammer to play two-way forward. That's why you have players like Sissons and O'Reilly in addition to a stalwart D-corps to offset the responsibility. We need Stammer to score goals on the PP, off the rush, and instill some wisdom in the prospective future of the franchise. Having someone other than Prince Filip with that shot, positional awareness, and hockey IQ is essential…and that's not even factoring the addition of Marchessault. Preds desperately needed a 2nd line threat vs the Canucks…didn't have it, causing more exerted effort on dump and chase forechecking against big Canucks players, with defensemen pinching for extra offense, thus leading to defensive breakdowns as a result in a winnable series. Moreover, after fulfilling McDonagh's request to return to TB, some respect was garnered from these players, and these acquisitions convey to Josi and Forsberg that the team is still vying to challenge in the playoffs. Go Preds!!!
