I would have preferred Guentzel, but none of these contracts will cripple us with the cap, which is an important factor these days. I also believe that there is room for these guys to grow their game in Vancouver. I was pretty heartbroken when I got up this morning to see almost all of the big free agents off the board, but at least we got something.

Don't care whether its DeBrusk + Heinen + Sherwood vs. Guentzel. Hopefully the new crew helps EP40 find his groove again and gives some consistency in his linemates. I dunno about the rest but I have faith in the Management Team to get the right guys and the Coaching Staff to get these guys up to snuff.

I think this is a garbage day for the Canucks. Jake is at best a second line winger. He isn't a finisher, which Pettersson needs, he doesn't have great speed like Rick said he wanted and so there's no real fit. We needed a bonafide top 6 scorer. The other 2 are probably 3rd liners on any other team but we have Dakota and Garland there so we are paying 3rd $ for 4th line players.

Bottom 6 just improved and you added some grit and speed in Sherwood and Heinen and DeBrusk will be a 30 goal scorer playing with Pettersson. Just hurts losing Zadorov.

Guentzel would have capped us. Now we have Heinen to replace Suter with 9 & 6, Debrusk to replace Milk Carton Mik, with Hogs & EP40, 3rd line already ok, and Sherwood on the 4th with Suter and Podkolzin

canucks are more well rounded now, should be very strong on the PK, they might not have as much fire power if they'd landed that 1 high paid star (guentzel, reinhart, or stamkos, or even marchessault), but they should be able to win close games & make the playoffs again…& who knows podkolzin (last chance) might have a breakout year, & can hoglander match again or even improve on 24 goals? can boeser get close to 40 again? can miller (& petey) both get over 100 pts again?
Sherwood is an underrated signing!
