  1. I think that people need to get a life. just because he left money on the table in calgary and vancouver is irrelevant. he chose where he wanted to be at an offer he accepted. one hypothesis i have why he went east is a simple one. he is much closer by air to his own country with no connecting flights. calgary is going nowhere and missed the playoffs. vancouver was a lock for the playoffs. he was able to chase a cup and he took it in van. and business is business. people talk about vancouver management using him to achieve their goals as a benefit. and lindholm did the same with van from a players standpoint. it is what it is. let it go.

  2. Lindholm is going to be fine. He will be the best center in Boston and he will do fine there. Sour Grapes it sounds like.
    Yup Calgary was going nowhere.

  3. You should look at centermen with 50% wins that scored 40 goals in 2022 go for.
Dylan Cozens is a 7million a year center.
    I mean, be serious

  4. You probably have to look at what he lost as a net. The sad reality is that Alberta's taxes which are the lowest in Canada are still as high as the highest tax US jurisdictions that likely narrows the gap. I also suspect he wasn't really in the mood to sit through at least four years of a rebuild in Calgary and went to the contender which offered him the most. He's rich either way.

  5. The offer from Calgary was a very good one monetarily. The only reason that came to my mind is people don’t like living in Calgary.

  6. It certainly would be rewarding for the Vancouver to win their first ever Stanley Cup this year. As much as I wanted Zadorov to stay, it would be so fitting for he and Lindholm to be watching the Canucks hoist the cup. Neither his nor Zadorov's contracts are going to age well. I give them three years before both are bought out.

  7. so sad to see so many bruins hatters out there lol u guys gotta to admit nhl players wants to play for the bruins hehe so suck it

  8. Comparing Lindholm to these guys is a bit silly. I think the chances that Lindholm ends up being Eriksson are slim to none. The Bruins pro scouting has done a pretty damn good job. They know the player, and they think he's going to excel with the team. Look at the guys they brought it. Coyle, Zacha, the other Lindholm. They have all put up their best numbers with the Bruins. Look at the players that Lindholm will play with.. and Marchand and Pastrnak on the PP. How much you wanna bet his numbers are closer to his career best than they're to what Eriksson put up as a Canuck. The Bruins are a consistent winning franchise. The Bruins got the player they wanted, and they didn't have to give up Lysell or a first round pick. Come on, you can point to this player and this one, but I don't see the comparison. Marchand and Pastrnak played great hockey with a right shot 2way center in Bergeron. Lindholm isn't Bergeron, but he's the next best thing when you can get him for nothing. Big win for the Bruins, and I wouldn't be surprised if they're in the hunt for another Presidents trophy late in the season.

  9. Wonder if his wife knows this or maybe she is the one who wanted out of Cow town?

  10. Linholm and debrusk had the same points in the post season. Debrusk on a team system with players he knows and lindholm on a new team and new system….

  11. money dont mean nothing to fitness. you can get ripped broke and it dont take long. this guys a moron. hestelling you not to get a trainer then offering you a trainer. hes only willing to work with rich guys, cuz he can schmooze them.

  12. I'm getting a Loui Eriksson vibe from Lindholm. Best to stay away. Disappointed about losing Zadorov, but Bruins overpaid for a 20 point defenseman.

  13. Wow, 8×8.5 is absurd for Lind. Can't believe he turned that down. Then again,. who wants to play in Calgary??🤷‍♂

  14. If hes playing on the 1st line beside pasta, chances are he'll live up to the contract for at least a few years. However, watching him play in van and calgary, he looks like a player that is only as good as the players around him. I would still call it an overpay but boston needs centers so they didnt really have a choice.

  15. Poor Lindholm he missed out on 16.5 million dollars boo ho poor millionaire hockey player

  16. Good thing Rutherford didn't give him $7X7
Lindholm isn't the same player he was two years ago..
Too bad Petey didn't play like he plays in EA Sports NHL24 lol

  17. Plain and simple, he wants to win a cup before he retires and he's not getting that chance in calgary. They are nowhere near ready right now and they still have to even draft a number of good players in the years to come and then hope that these players can become something further down the road. He will be retired by the time they come around, if they even get there at all. It's about the trophy, not the money

  18. Makes sense to me that Lindholm didn't want to be on a Calgary team going through a rebuild. For the Canucks, I think they were misguided to give up assets for a rental that only could have worked if Petey was converted to wing, or else having Lindholm as a too good for a 3rd line centre. That never made sense to me. Guentzel made sense but … dang.

Boston really needed to replace Bergeron so that makes sense, Big Z makes sense there. Will Lindholm thrive there? Who knows, it's impossible to replace Bergeron, so 'good enough' maybe works. Money isn't everything for players. Being #1 centre in Boston sounds better than #3 C in Van, or #1 C in Calgary during a 5 year rebuild.

  19. there is a interview with blake coleman about a month ago its very telling about treliving and the calgary organization

  20. I would take less money to go play in boston too who wants to stick around a rebuilding calgary team when you’re 29 or a Vancouver team where you’re gonna be played further down the lienup…

  21. You completely failed to take into account the tax situation in Boston vs Calgary and vancouver. He's making waaaaaay more money in pocket than if he signed the big deal in Calgary.

  22. I don’t bear any ill will to Lindholm. Yeah it sucks that we gave up a lot of assets for a rental player but only teams that think they have a chance to win the cup do that and if we’d had a bit more luck with our team’s health this past post season, Canucks would have beaten the Oilers. I’m very happy with the Lindholm for Debrusk “swap” as I feel Debrusk has a better chance of extracting more from Petey in the post season than Lindholm did. And since we have both those guys for the next 7 years let’s hope so!

  23. A lot of these long term deals will age badly. That's why I don't get upset, besides strapping the Canucks with a contract that prevents them from filling out the roster, that they didn't go out and sign a guy like Guentzel. The Canucks made very strategic moves. DeBrusk was one of the youngest UFA wingers and a guy I've liked since he was drafted. He seemed like a classic Boston Bruins type of player. I also really like Danton Heinen. He could be a steal. The guy is a perennial 16-18 goal scorer as a 3rd liner. The Canucks have options now in their lineup as well as toughness and scoring. On D, they're probably slightly worse, but Zadorov has never been a top 4 defenseman over 82 games and that contract could age terribly. I would have liked another 4-5 defensive defenseman, but there's a salary cap and given where they were at the end of the season, they've done really well. If Lekkerimaki shows significant improvement and makes a push for the main roster, that would be insane. As for Lindholm, that contract could be very ugly in the last 4-5 years. He's already declined significantly offensively in the last couple of seasons and he's being asked to play a top line role. Maybe it works for a couple of seasons, but if it doesn't, yikes.
