crazy that this organization has become the joke that it is now.
I remember this loss as a Pens fan like it was yesterday. Even with winning 4 cups since then, I have never felt good the times the Pens got a 3-0 series lead for fear it would happen again. The loss also precipitated one of several times the franchise got into financial trouble and almost moved or went under. It also was the first of several heartbreaking losses to the Isles that the Pens had in the playoffs, including two overtime losses in deciding games. Just makes me not take any of the successes since then for granted.

This was an incredible run to watch. No one gave them much of a chance against the Rangers, then make almost two historical comebacks. Ending one game short of advancing to the finals. This year put the Islanders on the map and road to future success throughout the 70s and dominant early 80s.
