  1. I am an impressed with the way that Tre adds the right ingredients needed for a deep playoff run! Unlike Dubas who just didn’t understand it’s not ALL about speed and skill. It’s vital to insert guys in the lineup who can protect the superstars and young guys coming up! Can’t be having Cowan getting choke slammed like Knies in the playoffs! That was initially addressed with Reaves, but I also like how he brought Domi in, a guy who can move the puck, fly on the ice, and has an edge to his game! And now he’s added Tanev, an ingredient the Leafs have NEEDED for YEARS!!!!

  2. Honestly underwhelming. Overpaid Liljegren resulting in no Bert, gave 6 years to a 35 year old dman, still have Marner, lack forward depth. Average team in the Atlantic.

  3. hey whytee's,

Leafs grabbed the wrong D-man. They finally address the third weakness on this team (2nd being no heart. 1st being no leadership – their captain has done nothing but lose his entire career and continues to be as soft as a twinkie filling with ZERO urgency to win), and focus on defense – but grabbed the wrong guys. The D-guys that went to Washington, New Jersey, and Seattle were the right guys. Under the wire defensive defenseman who play smart. Oliver is a career -118 in (+/-), yikes! ..and 32 years old after two long cup run seasons. Last year my mighty Islanders went and got D-man Bortuzzo (3 years older) for nothing from the Blues, and he was a career +10. Tanov will be like Ryu and Springer after 2 seasons, dead contract of an old tired vet. Tanov is a trade deadline deal guy, not a 6 year deal FA guy. hahahaha. Good luck – the B's got better, TB's replacement Guenzel makes TB slightly better, the scrapy Islanders have no problem beating the Leafs, don't forget about Carolina and the Rangers – and if you can get to the finals here come the Preds – so did the Leafs do enough to beat the B's or TB or NYI? Nope, they picked the wrong guys

  4. Idiot idiot idiot signing old players to long term deals what an idiot GM he did the same in Calgary and signed aging players to long term deals

  5. Would have loved to hear somebody ask: This team has scored 2 or less goals in 13 of the last 14 games in the playoffs, what do these signings do to help that change?

We now have pretty much no cap space left, and since it sounds very much like they aren't trading any big money out the door, our forward group will be even thinner this season than it was last season.

  6. “Goaltending will work its self out” I don’t love that approach with the 3 goalies we’ve got right now I can’t seem them being a contender

  7. Doesnt mean a thing when boston got better. We added 2nd and 3rd line dmen to the 1st and 2nd lines. Not to mention they will be dinosaurs at the end of their contracts.

  8. I've always felt that a teams defense should be more or less put in place during the offseason. Systems and chemistry are so important to defensive play. To me, the trade deadline is where you buy goals. The Leafs can afford to see where guys like Robertson, Cowan, and Minten are at. We might even see a surprise from someone like Roni Hirvonen.

  9. Everyone was excited that lilligren's contract was up and we would finally be rid of this guy he is allergic to throwing hits he coughs up the Puck constantly he's absolutely timid out there what's going on Brad I thought you liked tough players this guy is a joke and this signing is a Mistake .

  10. So is Matt Murray good to go or what?
Excited for Woll, Stollarz, and Murray.
Is Marty Jones resigning? Is Woll still the starter?
