  1. You can add even more pressure onto this game considering the World Junior Hockey Championships, less than 2 months before, ended in a very similar way — US vs Canada for the Gold Medal in Overtime. In that game, the US won 6-5 on a similar shot headed towards the short side of Canada's Martin Jones. Although that play was off a rush, the parallels were pretty cool to see, only going the other way this time around. 2010 was a wild year for Hockey. Not only did these two amazing moments happen, but the Chicago Blackhawks would end the, at the time, longest cup drought in NHL history that year against the 7th seeded Philadelphia Flyers. They defeated the upstart 8th seeded Montreal Canadiens, a team that eliminated the Cup defending Pittsburgh Penguins the previous round, and the 1st seeded Washington Capitals in the first round after coming back from 3-1 down in the series, an NHL first for an 8th seed. Capping that off, Marian Hossa of the Blackhawks reached and finally won his first Stanley Cup after playing in the past 3 finals on the Penguins in 08, who would lose to the Detroit Red Wings, then losing again as a Red Wing against Sid the Kid and the Penguins in 09.

It was a very good year for Hockey.

  2. Jesus Christ man get to the point lmao. This video just dragging and dragging when it could’ve been so much more concise. This man had to do a deep dive after every word lmao. This is one of those videos where people will stretch it anyway they can to get over 10 minutes.

  3. Being a NFL fan never really watching hockey, this was the game that turned me on to watching hockey till this day. What a amazing game.

  4. I remember being away on a hockey tournament that day as a kid, and I’ve never heard a hotel bounce and move so much when Crosby scored the game winner. It was electric

  5. Thanks for this awesome video man. I never realized how complex that goal was but I do remember how clutch and swift it felt. Really good breakdown.

  6. I was 16! That Olympics is one of the coolest times in my life as a Canadian sports fan. And this win was really the icing on the cake! So many good wins that year
