  1. Jenner for lily or kampf and pick. Trade timmins also. Then deadline look for top 2 D for 1st and minten with retained salary. Keep Robertson engaged unless good trade come about

  2. Kampf sucks. He cant score and our PK was awful. So tell me his value? He tries hard and skates well? haha GET FROST. `Kampf for a late round pick and soy boy Lilly for Frost!

  3. All of these guys are good. But two guys who are better fits have longer signed contracts who are cheaper and are rumored to want out of current situations. Boone Jenner.. and Shane Pinto. Are better fits cheaper signed to longer deals younger and make less money than almost everyone he mentioned.

  4. So far, they put new lipstick on the same hog.,So far, they are slightly above the Cap. So Far, they haven't the assets or space to trade for a quality 3rd line center. Yanni gourde is a small and high risk , Pageau on a 1 year contract would be fine, but you would have to give a pick for retention. Cowan needs more development imo,. The problem is the core 4 taking up so much of the cap that they are either forced to trade for magic beans (hope that cheap player pans out) or chip in more picks for retention. If you can't move any of the core 4 to improve, then use guys from the AHL (at least these guys are hungry) because this season is going to be the eightpeat, eight failures to get past the 1st rnd (Im not counting the Cats series because 1 game won is not being competitive) I would not trade any prospects or picks, and stand pat with what I have until the season is over, then I would retool. But the Leafs often do the unexpected and not in a good way.

  5. If the team think Johnny T can't play center in the playoffs, then get a 2nd line center and slide Johnny Hockey to 3c.

  6. With Dewar going to arb I think it should make Jarnkrok the odd man out. We talk about depth scoring in the playoffs and he is about the furthest thing from that. Kampf can at least anchor a solid 4th line.

  7. I think they go into the season with what they got and see how their young guys do. Jarnkrok is a great player and was doing good last season before getting hurt so I think keeping his is the best bet.

I want a line of Domi, Matthews Marner and watch Matthews score 75

  8. They gave Robertson so many chances and he didn't do crap in the playoffs. Idk what he's smoking when he's saying he isn't getting opportunities.

  9. Looks like you are hoping to get 40 points rather than Kamf's 20 points. 20 more points. At least 5 of those will be 2nd assists.. so like 15 valuable points. Frost would cost probably 5 points more than Kamf in bad D. None of this means losing a playoff spot or even positioning. I say leave it as is, give kids and Homberg more time, and let's look at a big move at the deadline rather than this marginal improvement.

  10. Domi-Matthews-Marner
    Knies-JT-Nylander
    Mcmann-Sephenson-jarnkrok
    Holmberg-Dewer-Abruzzese

I think we are forgetting Conner Dewer. We need to find a way to get rid of kampf and Reaves. I can see a trade package like , kampf,, Robertson and a 2nd for chandler Stephenson, buy reaves out, put on waivers or what ever we gotta do to dump his contract and slot Dewer in the 4th line center position, call up Abruzzese

  11. So bertuzzi left, and minten and Cowan are comming up. Their priority was clearly defense. They made a mistake letting Sammy leave, Sammy is so young

  12. Spot on, as usual. Hopefully they try to find a solid 2C, and can move JT down to 3C. I don't think he's able to play 2C anymore.

  13. DTSB, those options are totally on the money. What you didn't mention is that in the Bolts first Cup win, Gourde was a lights out effective 3rd line difference maker. Players who find another gear in the playoffs should be very high on the Leafs shopping list – he's that guy!. He's a big favorite of mine, but I think he might be hard to pry out of Seattle … they love him there. Robertson may hold some attractiveness for the Kraken, though – they have to find more scoring. All the Centre options are good, and my opinion is you presented them in the order of attractiveness.

Glad you're back, and REALlY glad that you're posting with some frequency. Your analysis always teaches me something and I can't say that about many other sites.

  14. Yarnkrok is better then Kamp where He plays too much alongs the boards where he checked easier and more prone to injury but seems too have more speed then Yarnkrok but he goes to the net more by Yarnkrok so it a toss up to trade but maybe on trade for Yani Gourde would be a step up on the the 3rd line for the leafs but I am not the manager but Trevling will make the right decision who wants to trade goe leafs go.

  15. Agree with lack of Leafs bottom 6 contribution. Without goals from Foegele, Janmark, McLeod, Brown and Henrique, Edmonton would’ve been eliminated in 4 in the Final.

  16. Nic Cousins would be the best fit without losing anyone from their roster. Also, I believe that if Wheeler would be willing to take another 800k contract. He would look great in the top 6

  17. Marner 3C/1PP/1PK (1st & 2nd Line shaker-upper) 20min TOI. Trade Kampf, Timmons. Sign or trade Robertson. Have Cowan and Mitts on 4th line, 2PP/2PK.

  18. I don't see any of Colton, Hayton, or Gourde moving. At least not for a price that the leafs would be top bidders on. Pageau and McBain not clear upgrades of upgrades at all over just seeing what you have in a Holmberg/Domi/Kampf combo. Frost is interesting. But the reason he might be available is friction with Tortz and the Leafs' coach isn't exactly a softy.

All in all, Leafs have been more than fine with a below average 3C because their top two Cs are money. I'd rather just see what progression you can get from Holmberg than spend assets (unless you can steal Frost for a song).

BUT, and most important I should add, Stephen you are an absolute peach for churning out this much off season content. A gem. A treat! My favourite person at this moment!

  19. ..after 8 years of futility..adding to this playoff useless super soft core will not help…Marner, Mathews, Nylander seem terrified by the playoff physicality…no future as constructed..move these ladies out for men with attitude..

  20. I don't understand why they don't trade mitch marner they could build very good team and sign jhon for 6 million for the rest of his days I say 4 more years but if they trade mitch marner he at least a major top 4 defense or a top 6 forward plus prospects or multiple first round picks I would not want 2 rounders like st.lous the trade could be robert thomas, Colton praiko, Jake, 2025 1st, 2027 first 2025 3rd

  21. How about hayton, Leo Carlson, , 2025 1st 20261st Utah has a ton of draft picks so if not 1st how about a couple 2rounders leo would be awesome

  22. Puckpedia honestly has turned into a better tool than capfriendly. Just a couple things to change and there will be no need to miss them

  23. For the Maple Leafs, the ugly truth is that team is handcuffed so long as the team's current biggest 4 contracts – some would say five – remain in place. So much of the cap committed to so few players is a recipe for post-season failure. Four of five players can carry a team in the regular season, but not a grueling Stanley Cup playff – four best of seven series!

  24. How about Nylander at C, like he played with Modo and the Marlies, and they look for a winger to play with him, instead of looking for a C.

  25. They need to trade to make room for the 1.1 mil 6'2 30 point RHD and the 3 mil 6'1" 40 point RHD. Moving on from the kid who was a point per game when Rielly was out at 1 mil is ridiculous but it is the Leafs so…
