I was still a Bruins fan at this point (22-23 was my first year as a Panthers STH). A neutral Canadian friend texted me and said “it’s over. The hockey gods have spoken. The series is over.” I think about that all the time and felt it… believed it. I think the Bruins did too.

It might not seem so big of a moment anymore since we didn’t win the cup last year, but the finals loss last year definitely helped our Stanley Cup win this year. If you listened to Mark Messier on Spittin Chiclets this week, he talked about how much more it took for him, Gretzky, And the Oilers to get in the mindset to win a Stanley Cup instead of just getting there and losing to the Islanders the season prior to their first championship.
