@Sabres de Buffalo

    Obviously the team who picks up the splashiest free agent is the most improved. That’s why the 2021 Sabres had such a HISTORIC season

    You shouldn’t be surprised, none of our moves were sexy. We get another Norris caliber season out of Dahlin though and that chance goes up a lot.

  3. sic_transit_gloria

    I mean, do you think we have anyone in genuine contention for any of those things? Dahlin would be the closest and even then, not sure he’s shown he’s quite at Norris level yet. he’s just outside that group of top 2 or 3 defensemen.

  4. Haha I had the same thought when I read the article. Even the only section that included the Sabres in the vote (eastern conference rankings) didn’t include any comment on the Sabres.

    Most slept on team this season? I wonder what our playoff odds are this year. It’s probably a great value bet this year if you’re a sports gambler.

    The good news is you can only be a surprise if no one expects you

  6. If they make the playoffs, Ruff is going to be a Jack Adams finalist, Dahlin might get some Norris consideration, and UPL might be a Vezina discussion. But until then, I’m fine with being slept on because we haven’t earned anything.

  7. Good, always prefer to fly under the radar on way too early stuff

  8. stickscall

    Get ready for a lot of this. Nobody outside of Buffalo is going to pick this team to make the playoffs.

    Take that for what it’s worth.

  9. The-Real-Larry

    The Sabres haven’t existed for 13 years.
