Wings fans are so lucky to not only have had Mick but also Dave Strader and then Ken Daniels back to back.

With Ray Lane in the tunnel.
The first time I saw hockey was on my Dad’s roommate’s tv when I was around six years old. It was the Montreal Canadiens in their white jerseys and the Wings in those beautiful reds. I couldn’t look away. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. I *had* to watch hockey after that. I learned to use the TV Guide to find games.
Then I discovered Channel 9, the CBC, which was available in metro Detroit. I’ve been hooked ever since.
Mickey and Dave are the apotheosis of broadcasting teams for me. I loved NHL CenterIce back in the day because I could watch Wings games with Ken and Mick and whatever games Dave Strader was doing at the time.
