The photo from the 50s is better quality than that Iggy photo

Technically Tocchet was in Boston from 95-97, not 96, then was traded to Washington.

Sully or Ben stiller?

I’m convinced if Jarome Iginla doesn’t nix that trade to Boston in 2013 Boston wins the cup over Chicago that year. Jagr was so ineffectual and Iginla showed the next year the chemistry he had with Krejci and Lucic.
Also fuck Cedric Paquette for ending Rick Nash’s career

Iggy in Boston is still one of my favorite moments in hockey for me

Plante and Gionta in Bruins jerseys is just wrong.

I think it’s an « overload » from the big Trump story.
Anybody else ?
Felix Potvin’s retirement is hilarious to me. He was offered a contract by several teams but the pads rules had just changed. Felix went « well, I don’t have equipment that meets the rules. » Then just didn’t go get new pads and keep playing.

I love Butch, I honestly can’t remember a time he mentioned playing for Boston.

Iggy pulled off the Boston jersey a lot better than any other non-Calgary one that he wore imo.

Very cool post. I had no idea Coffey played for the Bruins.

I forgot Potvin was on the Bruins briefly.
Some others that could be considered unusual:
Al Iafrate (12 games, 1993-1994)
Marcus Johansson (10 games, 2018-2019)
Robert Lang (3 games, 1997-1998)
Tommy Wingels (18 games, 2017-2018)
bobo888
Guy Lapointe, 45 games, 1983-84

I always thought it was weird seeing Chicago Blackhawk legend Bobby Orr in a spoked B sweater.

Jagr doesn’t count, what’s rarer is the list of teams he never played for.
You’re telling me people are surprised Satan played in Boston?
I would have been less surprised if someone named « Satan » never played there.
whogivesashirtdotca
The Plante photo is surprising. I didn’t realise he was playing well into that kickass mask era.
BTW OP, I normally hate daily themed posts but these have been great. Thanks for your efforts!

Coffey in a Bruins sweater is odd, but he played for like 9 teams so not that odd. Coffey wearing 74, though, that’s wild. Understandable, but wild.

I don’t think people don’t remember McSorley on the Bruins for a certain reason.

Jagr doesn’t look strange in any jersey. You could put a photo of him on a team he didn’t play for and I’d be like « eh……sure, why not? »

The Kaberle trade was supposed to be the final piece in 2010-2011. The Bruins had a miserably bad powerplay and he was traded to fix it. They tried to trade for him for a couple of years. Rumor has it he was going for Kessel at the draft but the teams had a miscommunication about who was getting a 1st rounder in return. Anyways, he didn’t fix the powerplay at all but they still one.

Most of these were a trip down memory lane for me but I do NOT remember Paul Coffey that was like some sorts of Blade Runner unicorn thing and I feel compelled to flee my apartment

At a glance, I was thinking “why is Cam Neely here?” and then realized it’s Dave Andreychuk.
Even had the #8 to throw me off.

Satan was actually awesome in the playoffs for Boston. He went 5-5-10 in 13 games with 3 game winners.

Lol Mike Sullivan looks like Ben Stiller
Brian Leetch’s second career assist was to [Marcel Dionne](https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/leetcbr01/scoring/1988).
Leetch’s last career assist was to [Patrice Bergeron](https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/l/leetcbr01/scoring/2006).
That Potvin pic just looks so unnatural.

Bernie Parent was a Bruins’ “legend”
Jagr and Iggy in Boston always make me chuckle
We don’t talk about McSorley.
Some of these I remember and I swear they were on the team for longer
Someone has to take 12 and run with it in Boston. Iginla, Gionta, Kaberle. Can add 23 games of Simon Gagne to the list of #12’s.
I dont see how don cherry being on the bruins is unusual… he was in the farm system for years before coaching them.
