this is way overboard on expectations for a 1st or 2nd year Dman I'm sorry. 39 Points for s rookie season? Come on man, how many rookie Dmen come in to the league and do that? I would feel good if Hughes even plays half a season next year much less scores like a top liner. It's no wonder so many fans are so fast to scream bust on a guy these days, your expectations are way out of realism. Give him 3-4 years to develop and THEN expect him to be an NHL top 4 Dman
I'd like to see Hughes and Nikita Tryamkin in the 19-20 season. Want help protecting the smaller guy? Someone who can skate like a smaller player, but has weight to throw around? Not saying it will happen, but stranger things have.
