Very interesting and informative video! Thank you for your hard work! 💞✨
I like the change it's going to be more competitive
The whole format needs to change to get the best players to participate and keep fan interest. No head to head…All participants bat for 3 innings. Each player gets 10 pitches in each inning. Most HR after 3 innings win.
Am I the only one who would love to see the classic 10 outs format return? 🤷🏻♂️
That was rough
move the thing on the screan please
Dude wtAF was up with Gunnar’s pitcher. He shoulda got Adley’s dad out there because skipper from down on the farm was straight trash. This new format is stupid because the pitchers have way too much influence. If anything, if they wanna adjust the format, they should do something like the NFL does with quarterbacks and have them try to hit homers to certain areas instead of timing and all this nonsense. Let them showcase their skills to control the bat by being able to hit the ball too different areas of the field. Like 3 outs to hit a homer to left, then 3 to hit it out to center and then to right. As the rounds go deeper incorporate left center/right center, and then stuff like launch angles where you have to hit it over 30 degrees or under 25. That would be way more interesting than watching your team representative get shanked because his pitcher is choking on the big stage.
OH Jim, how wrong you were! Go Dodgers, go Teoscar Hernandez !
So after last night's HR Derby there needs to be a change still. Is it enjoyabe to watch hitters exhaust themselves by having to swing the bat every 4.5 seconds (3 minutes and/or 40 pitches). Like Ken Griffey Jr. stated during the telecast…when he was in the HR Derby he got 10 swings. I would revise it and say each participant gets 20 pitches for 2 minutes. That's 6.0 seconds between pitches. That's for two innings. Inning 3 each particiapant is still hitting. Innning 3, each participant gets only 10 pitches or one minute (6 sec. per pitch). Any HR hit over 425 feet during the first 2 innings plus the 3rd inning is an additional pitch each particiapant gets in the 3rd inning. HR totals are cummulative for all 3 innings. The player with the most HR's over 3 innings is the winner. This allows players that start slow to catch up (like in a real game). And keeps everyone involved for the entire contest. Lastly, there is no rushing to swing. Players get set. Pitchers get a better rythm and we don't have to see finalist get exhausted by having to look at over 110-120 pitches in 3 at bats.
