No I will not do a per capita map, will leave it to u/shmtzh xD

  2. blue-lloyd

Was not expecting Czechia with more than Finland

  3. Formal_Two_5747

Cool! Only two NHLers from Poland, but 50% of them got the Stanley cup 😅 (Krzysztof Oliwa, an enforcer, with the Devils in 2000).

  4. echocall2

Crazy how Iceland can produce all of our ice but no players.

  5. Surprised there’s less than 30 from Switzerland, tbh.

  6. Maleficent-Comfort-2

Us Norwegians are getting pretty close to 10!

  7. Background_Hat964

Slovakia has had fewer than 50 NHL players all time?

  8. TheYepe

Why isn’t this adjusted per capita 🤔

  9. Shiny_Mew76

It is sort of weird seeing that there are no ICE hockey players from ICEland.

Also, who are the Irish and British players?

If the source is hockey reference there are a couple things that look off. The scale doesn’t seem to be correct, as someone else pointed out Finland should be in the highest category. Also the UK has had like 50 NHL players. People are also wondering about Czechia and Slovakia, and I think that’s a data issue because a bunch of players are listed as Czechoslovakia.

Who are the italians? are they born and raised in italy or « italian » americans/canadians.

Can we see a worldwide map

Can’t wait to see Australia hahaha

  13. NewtotheCV

I can’t believe there aren’t any huge Hungarian hockey heroes here.

  14. Eternal12equiem

Now someone do the antartica map

  15. cardassianjazz

Please say Darius Kasparaitus counts for Lithuania and not Russia.  They have huge murals of him in the ice rink in the mall in Klaipeda.

  16. JuicyPanda24

For Russia, Sweden, and Finland to have large amounts of players and Norway to have relatively only a handful is kind of shocking to me but what do I know I guess. As a red wings fan, super excited for my dude Brandsegg-Nygård! We tapped the Russian and Swedish pipeline before it was cool, on to Norway!

  17. elcabeza79

The Russian enclave of Kaliningrad really pops on this map.

  18. Duke_Of_Halifax

Man, the second Mighty Ducks movie is so misleading 🤣

  19. True-North-

I always find it super weird that Norway isn’t into hockey at all

  20. True-North-

There’s been close to 100 Slovakian nhl players all time.

  21. kimmeljs

Turkey has one, I forget who, but it was a news item a few years ago. Maybe a double citizen though.

  22. 0ng0Gabl0g1an

Sweden, Russia, Finland and Czechia has all produced over 150+ players. Sweden currently has 101 players in the NHL so this map feels inaccurate.

  23. like_lemons

this is cool! who’s from Kazakhstan?

  24. IfNot_ThenThereToo

Hang on. You’re telling me Wolf « The Dentist » Stansson isn’t a real NHL player? Iceland should be green.

  25. gaseous_defector

Why does Kazakhstan extend as far north as northern Scandinavia?

  26. KitchenWriter8840

C’mon not even one single hockey player in the whole of ICELAND

  27. PhilParent

Hungary will get one in the next decade. Almost happened with Janos Vas.

Poland has Oliwa and Czerkawski. Sidorkiewicz considered himself Canadian, as did Wolski.
