1. It's not as ka rov, its As kar rov and I get the pleasure of watching him play all the time following the preds and the AHL team. I'm not saying he's going to he the next Vasy, I'm telling you he's the modern day Marty Brodeur.

  2. NJ had no expendable assets to trade. Dumping Mercer would be a collosal mistake.
No one wanted Siegenthaler, or a Bastian, or an Allen for that matter. And Palat unless you retain 80% is untradeable with his garbage contract.
Unless NJ unloads the farm, there just are no available assets anyone wants.
Fitz made his bed this offseason for better or worse & said very clearly in plain English that he is done.
This team today is what it is.

  3. While I don't believe this is possible, I would genuinely consider playing Luke Hughes as a winger because he could have a lot of chemistry with his brother or another player and quickly be a top 6 forward. He is much more offensively minded than he is a defensive player so being able to swap out Luke for a winger, who is the main missing piece from our team for another good defenseman such as Casey or trade for a shutdown defensive guy would help IMO. I think a tatar mercer hischier and a bratt hughes meier line could work this season but I really have concerns about tatar in the future. Let me know what you think. I won't want to trade mercer for either of those players but at the moment we need more experienced players to win now. Watch what happened with just 2 rookies on defense. This team will sink with that much inexperience.

  4. Id say casey and change for Askarov.

Rutger id just try to pool together some solid AHL guys. After losing Holtz I don’t think we should pay much for unproven players regardless of their draft position. His trade value is probably higher than holtz but its still a gamble

  5. None. Devils have young talented goalies already. As for McGroarty is another young prospect Devils are not gonna have money to pay to in couple of years. Pass on both

  6. I seen an article about us getting Perfetti from Winnipeg! Idk how valid any of this is! We need another top 6 forward! Marsha damn ssault was only 5 million and Vegas would’ve paid him some of that so that’s a thumbs down for Fitzgerald smh

  7. I’m so happy with this off-season. I don’t want to tinker any more. Let’s just get Dawson signed up and let’s get to training camp and see what’s good.

  8. Bottom line, I don't think we have what it takes to get either of these guys without effecting the current roster. The cupboard pieces (picks and prospects) aren't enough imo. Especially with both WPG and NSH wanting to win now with competitive rosters.

My argument for Askarov – Mercer is going to get priced out long-term if both Nemec and Luke command high $$$ contracts over the next two years anyway. Under that premise, it's a matter of if you're comfortable sacrificing a few years more of Mercer in NJ (including making the immediate roster weaker this year) to potentially get a franchise goalie. It would hurt, but I've been really high on Askarov since Fall 2019 and leading up to his draft. I'm biased, but I'd entertain it (Mercer for Askarov). Obviously if it's any combo of non-roster players/picks it's an automatic yes for me, but I frankly don't think that gets it done with Trotz.

  9. Ace is the only one I’d listen to trade rumors about 😂 this literally is my first trade rumor video I’ve watched in years! Cause you speak facts and do your homework, my boy! But there’s only one thing that made me bat an eye 👁️ when you said Seamus Casey is just seen as a great ad in in a trade package for us 😮! Yeah I maybe would’ve did that in a deal to get Jonathan Marshassault or Stamkos but now I’m not even thinking of giving away Casey cause he was projected to have a skill set and career as Mike Green of the Capitals/Red Wings did! And even be better than Mike Green and Green scored 31 goals in 08/09, a feat that hasn’t been duplicated since and can only be compared to Kevin Hatcher of those same Capitals 😂 in 92/93! Most of us Devils fans are super high on Casey! He looks like a shorter Scott Niedermayer and ain’t no way I’d be willing to give that up right now!

  10. Plus Casey played with McGroarty in Michigan and worked excellent together so imagine if they’re able to reunite! Hughes brothers with Casey and McGroarty, that’s a lot of chemistry in of itself and would terrorize the NHL alone in the next few years or sooner!

  11. Ace i know you’re younger than us Devils fans who were there or remember that ‘95 Cup winning team lol but we had a very slow team the following season and losing Claude Lemieux to the Avalanche whom he helped win the Cup that season didn’t help either and guys like Neidermayer were still young were still learning and struggled and had so many guys injured and in and out of the lineup but yet we barely missed the playoffs! And that ‘96 Devils team didn’t have anything near the talent we currently have on our squad with bottom 6 guys like Bobby Holik and 39 year old fossil Neal Broten centering our top 6 lines often and we had a young Petr Sykora centering Billy Guerin and slow Steve Thomas on our top line nicknamed: the Hells Angels line! So adding McGroarty who lacks speed wouldn’t hurt us at all! We’ve had speed for a decade now and missed the playoffs most of those years!

  12. If we could get them, I would love those additions, however, tinkering with what we have right now, is unnessicary.

  13. Remember, one of the scouts said Rutger "plays like a Tkachuk." Nico, Jack, Dawson, Bratt, whoever, pack your bags. Brady lite is coming to NJ.

  14. Fun to talk about but I don't anticipate either of these happening. If Fitz thought he could get Askarov I don't think he would have drafted goalies this year and Askarov said he wanted NHL games so that would mean Allen would be getting moved– not that it's something that can't happen but I think it's unlikely. Daws has some hope of being an NHL regular but this is really going to be a telling year for him if he gets some reps. The Devils goaltending has been bad for years and the prospects haven't panned out, when does Dave Rogalski get put on the hotseat? McGroarty sounds like he is demanding a lot based on what I heard. I saw something about some teams walking away because he basically wants guaranteed NHL playing time and, while I understand he doesn't want to sit in the AHL, there is a big difference between not wanting to have to do 1-3 years in the AHL and demanding playing time in the NHL. EDIT: Also, I really want to keep Casey. I think he is going to be great and I don't think it will take him long to grow into an NHL role– especially since he is open to playing in the AHL.

  15. Yooo Ace…you're right! If the Devils strike out on all these goalies, somebody in scouting department must be fired. We gotta win the low scoring games, don't give up first goal, and hold onto leads this year. I hope that locker room gets business like and isn't like the country club we hear. Mercer needs to step it up a notch, believe he's capable of big things. He always stays healthy and that's a big deal with this group. Hope your staying cool in this BRUTAL Jersey heat bro!

  16. As a goalie guy I really think our future is with Mikhail Yegorov. No need for Askarov. Mikhail Yegorov will be a top goalie in the nhl in my opinion. Just need to give him time.
